DJ Yoshi

Not attacking Yoshi. He works hard, and is good at what he does. I go to games to watch football, and explain the action to my kids. I have a stereo at home so I can listen to music. I have to yell to communicate at a game. Music is too loud for my worn out ears.

The music (??) he plays during basketball warm-ups is crap. It makes my head hurt. It sounds like a bad dream (nightmare). The sooner they dump him the better. When he started playing in the RAC we sat in section 105 and had to move to the other side of the court the next year so that we could be able to have a conversation between ourselves. Unfortunately the volume was only a little better. Yes, I'm in my late 60's but give me Metallica or Ozzy any day besides that noise that he plays.

Yoshi doesn't DJ the men's basketball games. It's some other guy that's set up in front of the students. And I thought Yoshi only does the football pregame. The pregame music is to get the kids pumped up ... not easy listening for you old farts.

Yoshi is great & entertaining & always gets me pumped up before the game. My kids & dad like the music & don't mind the volume. Those that complain about the music genre & volume would've died at TTFP, as the pregame music is similar (without the mixing & blends) but even louder. Give it a rest already people.

To be honest, whoever is DJ'ing the b-ball games at the RAC, they probably should play it loud.

I mean, it's not like the attendance is packed to the rim where you can have chatter fill the area. If you have empty seats AND a low volume stadium, that would just seem sad. You want to give the impression that it is a loud, boisterous environment whether it really is or not.

The sound system in the stadium is horrible.

I moved my seats from goal line 2nd deck near the students to goal line lower level near the students and it is like night and day. The sound was so bad on the upper deck I found myself leaving early most games.

When this stadium gets a speaker upgrade that is throughout the stadium and not just blasting from one end zone this problem will be fixed.

I just want to agree that we are lucky to have him. People will complain about everything. I would love to see some of the people talking shit do what he does.

Pleasing a broad based demographic from a production standpoint has to be one of the most difficult, thankless things out there. Everyone is going to bitch, because even if they get some of what they want, they will want more. No one is over going to acknowledge a job well done, because the job description basically calls for no one to be too happy or too annoyed with the music. Its all a balance. And by all accounts, he is one of the very best at it.

If you want to listen to your music the entire time, pop in your earphones because it is never going to happen. If you want to listen to nothing, pop in some ear plugs, because that is never going to happen either.

Agree that Rutgers is fortunate to have DJ Yoshi. I think he does an excellent job both at Rutgers and Devils games.
