You want to really make a statement then this is what will finally make Barchi take notice. Obviously it will hurt us financially but buying in to the current cast of clowns coaching us is even worse. Good riddance to this team. They get no more of my money nor the money of my large tailgate until they hire someone with brains, energy and passion.

That will help recruiting. It genius posts like this one. We don't need to make any statement. If you want to attend the game, then attend. If not, don't go. But the last thing we need is a mass exodus. If we lose this year, then we will hire someone. Hermann can't afford this crap.

Unfortunately I agree. They only get money, not w/l, not even academic fraud. They need to learn that our money is hard earned.

agree. i decided to do exactly that since the last season. unfortunately, unless Barchi sees no immediate financial impact, he is not going to do anything, which perpetuates this mess. and i bet B1G cares about empty stadiums on TV. no body wants mooches.

Unfortunately we are just spinning our wheels. Most people knew Flood was in over his head. Eventually, probably very soon, he will be gone. Only then can we begin to rebuild again. If we hire another clown, it sets the process back again. It's gonna be another long road. I just wish we would accept it and start the process.

The B1G has to be kicking themselves. I don't care how many eyeballs our market has, it is absolutely useless if RU makes zero attempt to win. The novelty of the B1G is wearing off quick. Empty stands and poor ratings are coming soon...

We owe it to the players to continue to support them. They played hard till the end last night. It is a shame to watch a team handcuffed by coaching.

Each B1G team has made millions with the addition of Rutgers and Maryland.
So the B1G schools are not kicking themselves; they are dancing.

Easy mistake for those with limited understanding and vision.

We went to a bowl last year and won the Lambert trophy.......

some of you guys need to find another team to "root" for....

And this year, we had 7 arrests, a coach who put in writing that he was breaking rules, and two losses to teams that likely won't make the post season. Oh, and one of the worst secondaries and o lines in CFB. But hey, he was good one year so....

Please stop the insanity ..maybe finally showing real support will speak louder... Things have a way of working out....... But don't bale on the players who did nothing wrong and play hard. And what a greet message you are sending to our recruits or possible recruits!

In spite of pedophiia and sanctions .... Penn state football sold out their stadium every week.... Say what u will ... That equals real fans in my book....

My group loves tailgating and its a lot of fun for my kids to go. We all hate losing, but you want me to give up the camaraderie and fun we have with tailgating? Not happening.

Will have to express my displeasure a different way. I may explain to Barchi and JH that we will never give one more dime than we have too unless you start investing in the program. Once they start investing, we will start investing. In this chicken and Egg scenario, Rutgers has to start first.

The bottom line, Rutgers needs new leadership at the top. We need a real leader with integrity who has passion for Leading a Big 10 school with a conference charter to excel in both academics and athletics. A leader who understands that investing in Athletics will bring a return down the road and that winning will lead to more students applying, more recognition, more research dollars and significantly more dollars being donated. This leader is not Barchi.

You are clueless.
Do you even see the state of the current program ?
Stop bringing up last year. We beat NOBODY . Best win was against a 7-6 Edsall led Maryland team.
Did you notice our " competitive play" against the better teams .....laughing stock and slaughtered in 4 games.
Flood has Zero success against any decent teams. Now he can't beat the bottom teams.

We don't owe anything to the players. You are kidding me. Do you think they care about you? Not so much.

Stop buying tickets, because the crap they put out there shows they have no respect for the fans.

Great idea! Everyone should also resubscribe to the ledger and start following politi on Twitter. Reweet everything he puts out. Talk badly about RU to all your friends........

25 year season ticket holder will not continue to be after this year. If for some reason I have absolutely nothing else to do on a Saturday I'll buy the tickets off of another sap who can't get rid of his or hers in a typical WTF season for good old RU.

WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG...
This is college football. You don't hurt anybody but the athletic department. You show the institution how weak the athletic support is by doing this. It actually the opposite. DONATE MORE, Designate it to athletics only!!! Hurt the institution, help the athletic department. They need to hear from us loud and clear that we want this.

I hear you and after being emotional last night, I tend to agree this morning.

I was as POd as anyone Saturday night (and intoxicated), and thought and said some stuff that were irrational.

The only way RU will ever be a top B1G football program is if more alums and fans do the opposite of what you suggest and do these things:

1. Donate more
2. Buy season tickets

If let's say RU football gets 40k season ticket holders and everyone steps it up with donations, our voice will be much stronger and louder and we can force change to the athletic dept, university and in the State of NJ.

Look, the team this season will stink and not win many games.
Too many key players were lost to turn things around and the dark clouds swirling around the program and with Coach Flood are simply too much to overcome.

But, buckle up and man up for change and ensure that you step it up as fans with season tickets and donations to the football program and we can have a bright future .

How's that working out for Rutgers this year?? Dumb ass post. Pay attention to what's going on now! It isn't good.

Who said a few thousand? The whole point of the thread was significant percentage of the seats empty visible on TV.

It took schiano several years to build the current fan base. Flood will get us back to 10-20k where we were before schiano.

Home games filled with opponent fans.

Yeah. We should just shut up and watch. Right?
Buying tickets is our only voice. You have yours and I have mine.

This thread is embarrassing. If you want to stay home, stay home. Just shut up about it.

If you think a few thousand people in or not in the stands will decide Flood's fate, you are insane.
Agree. This is worse than watching " The View".

Don't buy tickets? if you don't have season tickets already you are at best a marginal fan/supporter that never really bought in or made a commitment to the program/team see you, don't let the gate hit you in the ass on your way out.

I call BULLSHIT on this....25 years my ass...if you were here that long you would have been through Shea years and if you didn't get drunk, pissed and not renewed then you ain't going nowhere....if in fact you were here 25 years!

that's right. stopped buying season tix after 2012 season.
see the progression?
season tix holder > marginal fan (as you put it) > just an alumni
that's how you get to 10-20k fan base.

If Kyle Flood is back next year I will not be in the stands. He was never qualified. He should have been fired after being responsible for the worst offensive line in Division 1A. I will never forgive RU for hiring him when ANYONE would be terminated for this type of performance. Now...with his personal improprieties, recruiting athletes that have tarnished our name and are violent criminals....I can no longer support him. I do not offer BLIND SUPPORT. Signed...old timer and season ticket holder for decades.

Forget about sending a message. I'm a 15 year season ticket holder, and am seriously considering not renewing for next year, just want to find a more enjoyable way to spend my autumn Saturdays. This team, between the arrests, player suspensions, Flood's asinine attempt to get Barnwell eligible, the failure to even line up properly on defense, to the frustration of not even giving our most talented QB a few snaps and only giving our best RB 7 carries, is driving me away. Simply put, Rutgers football is no longer fun for me, and I will likely seek to go in another direction with my discretionary spending next year, hoping to find something that will bring me more joy in m time away from work.

For those who are tolerant of what has transpired this year, god bless you and I wish you the best.

Whatever with your ass. That's right, been through it all in 25 years and not even alumni. I'd rather be a season ticket holder at West Point. You at least know what they stand for and the kids and the institution are easy to root for
