From the article, which has other solid stuff in it:

"We're going to be aggressive," Okruch said. "We're going to fly around, have fun, go fast, go hard, don't worry about making mistakes — everybody makes mistakes, if you make one, make it full speed — and we're going to enjoy what we do. If you don't want to be part of a program like that then you probably won't belong there and that's our job as coaches to recruit ones that understand. It's going to be high-energy. That's the only way I know to operate."

Okruch said that energy will start in the meeting room.

"Going around to some of the NFL clubs to study what they do with special teams, it's hard to stay awake in their meetings. They're very boring," Okruch said. "You come into (Ohio State's) meetings and it's kind of a cross between a horror movie and a concert. It's high energy, there's a lot of noise, there's a lot of sound, there's a lot of juice in that room. And we play that way. Our kids take great pride in being different that way and we will carry that with us to Rutgers."

Meh. Rather have a kicker hit it out of the end zone every time. Less chance of return. Less chance of injury.

Didn't read the article. I'll just say STs have not been the problem these last few years. Grant's an excellent returner and how many teams have as many blocks as RU? So maybe the better quote would have been:

"We're STILL going to be aggressive"

There's insight into Ash's style of coaching that is pretty cool.

Duggan Tweeted this quote which is pretty awesome and explains some of the horror movie Tweets I saw over the weekend.

"Rutgers special teams will be all about energy. Meetings will be "a cross between a horror movie and a concert."

So we can expect them to be like this?

You should read the article. That is exactly what the article said, RU will continue to be aggressive on special teams. Plans to continue RU's success in blocking kicks. I felt Flood backed off on that in 2015 so I would be happy to see us return to aggressive.

Backed off, or didn't have the benefit of a healthy Turay?

Backed off. Turay has only been on the field 2 years. History of blocking kicks goes back much further.

He said Flood backed off in 2015. Turay was on the team, and I seem to recall him having some success on STs in 2014.

Love how these coaches talk.

Flood and bore ball has been thrown out the window at high speed.
Yes Flood was risk adverse, more so then any coach I have ever seen. Football is a game of calculated chances. Flood's calculator must have broken and I think he was trying to do long division on that note pad of his. Problem is he could never figure out the answer.

"Don't worry about making mistakes." Sounds like the antithesis of Flood's game plan.

The tease was the MSU game, after which I though Rossi/Flood had the defense tuned up, then we reverted to the same soft zone bullshit. Even with MSU's pro-set offense and injuries, I still can't figure out how they schemed so well against #4 and then sucked against the rest of the schedule.
