looks like he will go 0 for 2 this morning on Jones and Haskins. Once the momentum starts it looks like discussion of the "Movement in MD" will need to take place on texting on the can thread!

Jones and Haskins have scheduled a "joint announcement" for this morning.

Maybe the "joint announcement" is to say they are still committed to Maryland and that actually helps "The Movement" down the home stretch in recruiting. I'm just presenting another option.

It's not like Under Armour will still hire Haskins dad if he leaves....lol

Perhaps they are announcing the opening of their new chain of ice cream stores called "Hajos"

Durkin deserves every shet sandwich he gets served right now. Guy should have eaten this class and instead he pulled half of the kids schollies. He's down to ten now and I would love to see it go even lower.

Considering he's already gotten 2 4* OL to commit, I think he's going to be just fine. He lost two kids that were heavily linked to Locksley, one of which was never truly a solid commit despite what he made it seem. As for pulling schollies, why should he take guys that he doesn't think can cut it? Good for him for having actual standards, something Edsall didn't.

Durkin & staff are going to be just fine on the recruiting trail. You should worry about your car salesman of a coach given the results on the field despite his recruiting prowess.

Yeah, Durkin is really burning it up. I'm sure he is also endearing himself to the coaches of the high school programs that those kids were from.

So you would rather him take crappy players simply not to burn any bridges? Why would he lie to the face of these kids? If he doesn't think they're good enough he owes it to them to let them know. Hurt feelings are unfortunately bound to happen in recruiting come
On now.

Yes I think that is what you have to do. You can be honest and tell them that hey you have a scholarship but I don't see how you fit in our plans. You will probably never play here but you can go to school here for 4 years.

Don't agree with this logic. Big Ten college football is a big boys game and I don't have a problem with a new staff coming in and totally reexamining how things are done. If it hurts the feelings of some kids and some coaches than so be it, but I think Durkin owes it to them to be truthful. Most of these kids will land on their feet elsewhere and have a better chance to play because of it.

I prefer this approach, even if it leads to a smaller class.
