Just watched the game again on dvr, and Eddie actually coached a good game.

He had our guys hustling from wire to wire. Our up-tempo style and outstanding active hands on defense led to many breakout buckets, which put us in a position to win.

Basketball is a game of runs, and you can't just pick a spot where we are at our peak lead of 16 with 14 minutes left and say we should've won.

St. Johns was bound to have a run of their own, which they did.

What happened in the end-game is that Corey could not finish at the rim on several possessions and could not convert free throws. And of course, the refs missed an obvious blatant foul on our second-to-last posession with RU down by only one.

The only thing I wish is that Eddie had put Foreman back in much, much earlier. Despite his lack of skill from the line, Foreman gives us so many positives and I believe he would've been a difference-maker for us in this game.

I also liked Eddie's comments in the huddle, which were very specific and pertinent. We did not get the outcome we wanted, but our guys played a hard-fought game, and our coach put them in a position to win.

I agree. I was in the 2nd row less than 10 feet from Eddie in the huddle. I could hear every word he said. He was positive all game long and was really pushing the kids. Those who keep blaming Eddie were not at the game and just love to blast him. It was not Eddie's fault that we missed so many foul shots in the second half. Corey was 1-6 after going 6-7 against Hampton. BJ was 1-3 of which one was a crucial one in one. It also wasn't Eddie's fault that Foreman who was our best rebounder in the first half got a cramp in the important part of the second half. It gets a bit tiring to constantly hear some of our fans constantly criticizing our coaches or our players.

Knights1212, glad to hear from someone who was at the game concur that Eddie did a good job that night.

A young team and a new combination of guys playing on the road for the first time, and EJ had them ready to go from the opening tip. They never let up and they were never intimidated.

This is a hard-working bunch of guys that attack and share the ball on offese and play aggressive stifling D from wire to wire.

I'm happy for Eddie that he has the type of players he can coach and run with and who will defend the way he wants them to.

This will be an exciting, fun season with a head coach and players that are very easy to root for.

Im glad we have fans who fall over themselves saying a coach did a great job when you lose a 16 point lead of a team less talented than us and younger

Bac...that's your evaluation of talent and the situation which for several others may not be valid. Whatever floats your boat. But face it the key was missed free throws. Make half of them and especially on the front end of a 1 and 1 and Rutgers wins. But don't blame Eddie for that.

Slow down the offense a little and we win also.

We had a foul to give in the end game.......

It was never used.

If Eddie can't get the players to defend on most possessions we have no chance. #3 and #5 are exceptions.

I agree. Defense was atrocious today against CAS. One positive coaching development today was Eddie sitting Daniels down the stretch. I thought Daniels' selfish play and bad D was a big factor in RU's implosion at the end of the SJU game.

I thought many of our turnovers in the first half were lazy passes and just being outhustled which is inexcusable. Also in the second half I did not like the fact he left Goode in down the stretch he did absolutely nothing on offense and hurt us on defense

I don't recall Goode hurting us on D...not saying he didn't. Very telling that when we needed D Goode and not other players saw minutes/
