At the beginning of Eddie's first season we were ranked 107. Since then it's been a steady drop to where RU is now at 293. This entire era has been horrible and continues to get worse.

Yo Yay, kenpom means nothing this year. Nothing. Nothing ,and nothing. Get that thru your head!!! This roster is a kenpom disaster. Not that important for the long term benefit of Rutgers University. Will make the climb sweeter.

At least the others are posting about performance or stats or critiques of the coaches. 95% of your posts are direct attacks on other posters which adds nothing and, by the way, I think is how someone is supposed to earn a timeout on these boards. 7 posts and counting on this thread so far says it all.
I don't think you want to talk basketball unless it's some sort of positive-of which there are few. We can talk about Eddie's awful defensive strategy OVER THE PAST THREE YEARS and someone will bring up injuries and only talk this season.

There's very little basketball to talk on the boards, because we're not fielding a real team on the court. The players are making valiant efforts night after night, but they have been put in a position to fail. The reasons why have been talked about ad infinitum - the end result is a group of players trying to do their best to pull out wins against impossible odds.
There's no basketball to be discussed, though. You can't talk about strategy in a given game, or substitution patterns, or whether a player should be getting more minutes, or how players have progressed year to year, individual play (because the players are playing out of position or playing hurt) - nearly all of the actual basketball talk is moot at this point, because we're a short roster depleted further by injuries.
The only actual basketball topics left are:
1. Will we get a win this year?
2. Will certain players be back next year?
3. Will the coach be back next year?
a. If yes, can he improve on X, Y, Z things?
b. If no, who is a likely candidate?
4. What will the roster look like next year?
5. What will the new recruits look like, and who will we get for the last spot?
There's no discussion of X's and O's possible at this point. Or about any of the finer points of the game. We haven't even had anyone talk about officiating in months (probably the St. John's game), which is how you know it's gotten bad. Any hopes for a silver lining to this season died with Sanders' suspension.
The season was put on life support when Freeman got hurt, and flatlined when Laurent got hurt. Sanders tried to get the paddles and bring it back, but then his suspension had the doctor noting the date and time.
The only basketball talk we can really have right now is what next season will bring - and there's a ton of uncertainty there re: what the staff and roster may look like. Trying to police people to only talk about basketball topics is like trying to get people at a wake to only talk about the deceased - it's a nice thought, but just not going to happen.

For a few guys, if we end up winning 10 games in 2016/2017, they will point out the huge progress being made and that 2015/2016 was the floor. The program is heading in the right direction. But no one would have supported hiring Eddie if they knew what the 1st three seasons would produce. Expectations have been driven to an all-time low. The team will be better next season if no significant player leaves but will still be challenged not to finish dead last in our conference. I'm thinking they will give him one more year but will not be tolerant of 12-21 next season. And why should they?
Most ironic poster on the history of these boards... Claims to be "positive" but almost all of his posts are harshly critical or dismissive of other posters. Criticizes others for repetitiveness... in almost every one of his posts.

i spoke to Kyle Flood at a bar in Middlesex, he told me the exact same thing. his exact words were "they ALL read the boards"
you and the rest of Eddies fans live in a vacuum but I guess that's better than living in Potomac, do you think schools like PSU, Nebby, Northwestern, Minny and Illinois wont also be better. Just because a team has a few more players doesn't mean they will win games consistently. If you follow any of the above teams you will see how hard it is to win league games. You were throwing rose petals at Nebraska earlier this year and they currently sit at 6-9. Rutgers still has less talent than anyone in this league so Im LMFAO that you think a NBA coach who will end up losing 41 of his last 45 games is going to coach them up to a 500 season next year

No. Better than that record should be the expectation. But if you lose a few at the buzzer that you could have won and end up there, we deal with it. Have to see real progress on defense which will translate to more wins.
Yeah Bac ,why did Nebraska go from above 500 to below ? Shields their best player went down in our game and they have lost a few in a row, but still had leads late they lost, and lost in OT . They lost one damn player and see what happened. Do you think Tim Miles is not a good coach? He was the hot coach before Nebraska got him.
Every school you mention, is beatable and we should compete with without any blowouts . You expect the same as this year.
I agree that better than 12 wins *should* be the expectation in Year 4... but it's not. We've averaged 12.5 wins over the 9 seasons prior to this one... and next year will be a regression (progression?) to the mean.
