The Rutgers men’s basketball coach was asked Tuesday, during his team’s media day, how the university’s plan to upgrade the basketball facility is impacting his recruiting.
“It’s been a non-factor,” Jordan said. “We don’t talk about that because we’re still looking for some solid dates and solid indications that there is a timetable. Right now I have no timetable for us, so we don’t try to sell that.”
In June, Rutgers announced intentions to upgrade the dated Rutgers Athletic Center -- in particular to add a much-needed practice facility. But no timeline was set, and president Robert Barchi made it clear that the funds would have to be raised from donors and sponsors.
The truth is, meaningful progress could be a long way off.
