Not Larry Bird but not Larry David either.Surprises me. Playing with Bulls summer league squad.

Excellent college player who lacks the skill set needed for the NBA.There are many college players that fit that stereotype.

Some other notable undrafted players : Shamarie ponds, Tyler Cook, James Palmer,

Naz Reid, Juwan Morgan, Nick Ward, Ethan Happ and countless others. The ironic thing happens on July 5th through the 15th, in the NBA Vegas Summer League.....players undrafted go against the drafted or 2nd and 3rd year players.

What was a glorified hangout during the day, while waiting for the nightlife on the Strip, has become a launch point for NBA fans who are never going to pay hundreds of dollars to see Zion Willamson or RJ Barrett in a real NBA game....instead, go to Vegas, rent a room for a few days, stand in line for 1st come 1st serve tickets and get to see future stars or your college heros play in a NBA scrimmage setting.

That coupled with NBA star gazing of NBA players media, other celebrities and it becomes a 10 day non-stop event/party.

Ethan Happ or others will get a chance with some roster, somewhere.

I've been going to Summer League for more than 10 years now because of work.

Now that they shut down Orlando & everyone is in Vegas it's become crazy.

And... it leads right into AAU tournaments in Vegas. Vegas is a wild hoops town for the month of July

Ethan Happ’s game doesn’t translate at all to the NBA. He would eat a lot of leather sandwiches.

I think we will find next year that Wisconsin won’t miss him that much.

Ethan was an outstanding college player but every basket he scored was within a few feet of the basket. That wouldn't work for him in the NBA against all of the big guys and shot blockers. He also couldn't make free throws. I think he will do well overseas if he would like to try that.

The NBA is nearly impossible to make into a career unless you are a Zion-like athlete or 6'10" or greater tremendous athlete. The level of play between the NBA and the NCAA far different then the difference between college and pro football

College players need to stop thinking that they'll play in the NBA. Its good to have dreams and hopes and goals but you don't live your life hoping to win the lottery either. If it happens its awesome but unless you are the precious rare athlete (top 0.1%) you should go into college thinking that the NBA is nothing more than a pipe dream.

These guys would be far better served in their lives with that attitude.

Perhaps, but there a ton of pro leagues across the globe that you can earn you a decent living. The real question they have to ask is making $100k/yr for 6 years and then basically being behind in whatever non-basketball career you pursuit worth it?

Wait. This is the same guy who says we’ll miss eugene mightily? [roll]

I agree with you, wiscy wont miss happ much despite him being an all league player just as we’ll be better this year despite losing an honorable mention average forward

You don't see a lot of players drop out of school solely to play in foreign leagues. It happens but most leave school because they really believe they are going to play in the NBA.

6'8. already 23. Was 17 and 10 as a senior, but not all that much improvement over what he was as a red shirt freshman. No range. Really enjoyed watching him, even when they were not playing RU. Think he will have a fine career in Europe and make a lot of useful contacts for post-BB.
