They are undermanned and tired. He did not call a timeout in the first half. He should have used them all. What a joke.

He does not know what he is doing. A HS coach could get these results.

Eddie's trying to rush back to the hotel to scout Ohio State - Northwestern. Remember, this guy doesn't have access to a DVR.

Nah..he's rushing back to hotel to check his bank account balance. Terrible WiFi in Xfinity which really put him in a bad mood

Though others have already responded, I will pile on: You are totally wrong. He did call a time out, right before one of the media time outs (I think before the 12 minute mark, though it might have been before the 16 minute mark).

This is a prime example of what drives me nuts ... no matter how bad things are on the court, I HATE it when posters post absolute crap to try to feed into their agenda of slamming the program, coach, or players. Unfortunately, there is enough ammunition to criticize without making crap up.

As stated in another thread, though there is plenty to criticize about Jordan and the staff, this game was completely hopeless from the start, having nothing to do with coaching. I mean RU had 7 scholarship players, with only 2 players over 6'4" tall against a team with multiple players over 6'8" tall. When Lewis or Foreman HAD to sit down, a 6'4" Grier had to cover a 6'10" player who could post, drive AND shoot the 3. You had 6'2" guards having to try to box out 6'10" power forwards and centers (does not work well). At one point RU had 4 guards, none of whom were taller than 6'2" or 6'3" on the court with a 6'8" Foreman.

You can criticize all you want - and much may even be merited - but as of yesterday, I have NEVER seen a team with as many concentrated injuries (or even as many injuries) as RU has faced this year. RU's "luck" with injuries is even worse than the lack of skills RU players may or may not have shown ... and that is simply fact.

You could have no coach and just have the players sub themselves in and out and get these results.

Next year's recruits would be the same also.

I did not see much of the game but at one point when I turned it on our tallest guy out there was 6-4. Not a recipe for success.

Part of me thinks Eddie knows this will not end well, and he will pull a Tom Coughlin so he can continue to be a legend and honored Alum. No one wants to be fired by the school they starred at as a player.

I am no fan of Eddie's, but it's pretty unfair for anyone to complain about what he did, or didn't, do last night. That was survival mode.

Sure, he's failed to recruit any talented height other than Freeman. But "his" three bigs are injured. Not his fault. With a full roster, RU might have kept it interesting for a half, but the result still would have been a 20+ point loss.

my feelings as well. Except that I would like to see more creative adaptability and his players respond to knowing they have to watch the stupid fouls. But (as example) after 5 years of Lewis and several coaching attempts I just figure it is him and not the coaches.

Pitchforks out in full force.. I know people want to vent here and I get it. Current players, potential recruits and recruits family and friends read this board, the message their getting loud and clear is stay the hell away from RU at all costs. Maybe try venting some other way instead.

What potential recruits are those?

The only reason the score was as close as it was is that the Maryland coach felt sorry for us. Common theme when you are a cellar dweller.

Could our "luck" with injuries have anything to do with the fact the big men (usually the ones getting hurt) that fall down to us from a recruiting standpoint tend to be not as physical players, fragile and more prone to injury. I'm not sure I believe this is simply always a bad luck scenario. Or the other possibility that guys have to play out of their natural positions and get beat up?

I think Eddie would be crazy to resign. You get fired you get paid

Not in my opinion, not in this case.

Freeman and Laurent are certainly physical and by your definition should not be prone to injury ... neither were thought to be fragile, as you say. Doorson did not look "fragile" to me last year ... raw, yes, but not fragile, nor did he look less physical. Diallo is a little skinny, but not playing out of position - and again, young.

You could say Laurent was playing out of position when he suffered his conucssion, as he was forced to play at PF ... after Doorson, Diallo and Freeman had gotten hurt. But what choice did Jordan have except to play Laurent as the back-up PF, after those other injuries?

Injuries happen, all the time, to many teams. They just HAPPEN sometimes. But it cannot be denied the number of injuries, and all at the same position, basically, are unusual and extraordinary.

OK, so he called one TO. You use them all in this situation...period. They also played way too fast.

I think you're misunderstanding RUEd's comment... He's simply saying it's unrealistic to think Eddie will resign and leave a lot of money on the table, which is 100% correct.

I know
I was just kidding

Funny his name is also Ed

Hi RUEd!
