exciting to hear this

I was wondering if maybe a kid thought he was too good for Stoney Brook and could end up at RU.

- can see that happening ... partly general perceptions of institution - and partly the league in which they play ...

but, have to give credit to the key people at Stony Brook - if they are able to continue to upgrade the university at the rate that they have been going - it will become a more and more attractive school for the general population of students - and potentially for athletes - 5- 10 years from now - if you talk to a crowd of high school juniors & seniors - you may well hear the Stony Brook name tossed out there as one of those popular/desirable schools to consider.

If there's truth in the kid thinking he was too good for Stoney Brook, and does end up at RU, he'll find out fast how good he really is.

Certainly makes sense. Everyone has an ego and while you might have a connection and comfort level with a coach in a lower conference, your ego pulls you towards the highest level conference you can play in.
