PRE-SEASON predictions
2019-20 COACHES BIG TEN PRESEASON RANKINGS
So what happened? Maryland, after a rough start, now looks like top 4 team nationally they were predicted to be coming into the season. Indiana finished right around where it was predicted too.
NO ONE saw Northwestern coming, who's had a truly remarkable year. Iowa also did a tremendous job even after losing the national player of the year. RU had a rough patch, but finished the season strong to lock up the #5 seed.
What happened to the other teams with high expectations? Certainly they got bit by the injury bug. Michigan St's preseason all first team B10 player--Shay Colley--only played 9 games this year due to injury. Michigan lost its second leading scorer with 10 games to go in the season. And as everyone knows, Minnesota lost their best player early in the season when she decided to leave the team.
