I've watched the NFL for 35 years and I can frequently no longer recognize teams courtesy of hideous vintage uniforms and the uniform of the week club. And college football is infinitely worse. Thanks Nike and Oregon!

Kinda ironic, after 35 years you should recognize the vintage jerseys.
Steelers were retiring the vintage unis from last week. Only 29 more to go. Definitely odd looking by today's standards.
I was flipping channels on Saturday and came across the following game. The score wasn't on the screen, so it took me a minute to figure out who was playing. The worst part is we played them every year from 1980 to 2012.

They used to wear brown helmets to simulate the leather helmet look with the vintage jerseys, but the NFL has a rule that all helmets need to be previously used because new helmets are worse for concussions. Therefore, they took the stickers off of their normal yellow helmet.

I've been wearing a pink wristband since the day my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer in February. It has created much discussion and hopefully has saved others the horrors of watching their wife/girlfriend/sister go through surgery, 16 rounds of chemotherapy and 4 (of 37 planned) rounds of radiation.
Call me a sissy to my face for wearing pink and I'll kick your ass so hard you'll need to untie my shoe to brush your teeth.

However, I don't believe that justifies your campaign to advertise for the money making scheme/baby-killing supporters known as Susan G. Komen.
As far as wearing hot pink, based upon your violent threats, I don't believe it has turned you into a sissy.
That said, our society has been working on twisting gender roles for a long time as part of an attempt to break up the family model. Forcing hot pink on my boys' soccer team is a subtle, deceptively innocuous part of that campaign.

We all realize this generates additional revenue but we also see that awareness now starts at a very early age because of football doing this.
Calling our kids sissies for either wearing it or if you are so afraid of your own manhood that men wearing pink offends you, that it your own problem to live with.
I just ordered a great set of pink cuff links, my son's most prized memorabilia is his sissified hot pink game worn gloves and cleats.
I also list my mother and my aunt to breast cancer. And my kids were never sissified to wear hit pink in or out of a football game.

Maybe college should adopt that rule as well so that one team dont have 5 different helmets.

I don't know what that means though. Awareness of what? Who didn't know there was breast cancer? I think NFL teams wearing pink has more to do with appealing to female fans (NFL started marketing stuff to them hard at the same time as the pink thing) than anything high minded. A cancer surgeon writing in WSJ said he thought it was a racket, SI ran a similar bit. Only around 5% of profits go to research (whatever that means). Now you also have the other disease things. Every day there is another race, walk, bucket etc for some cause. I think its become a way to make money by taking advantage of peoples good will. Even the NFL's patriot/military programs have been found to be paid for. NFL's cancer thing has been getting a lot of flak (mostly from women writers to boot)

There is much more awareness because of it. And there is much profit being made Of it. I would rather some greedy people make money and have more awareness and money going to the cause than have a bunch of people never even think about it.

People become "sissys" by wearing a certain color? I think you need to reexamine cause and effect.

And we can add in the mainstreaming and legitimization of adultery, divorce, pornography, sodomy, gay marriage, single parent homes, widespread prescription of and abuse of painkillers, antidepressants, etc., along with the hyper-sexualization of entertainment media, half-time shows, children's programming and a general erosion of morality, including a taste for evil and an elevation of every sin imaginable.
