#2 overrated at #18.

2. Washington: The Huskies start the season at No. 18, which really isn't that high. I mean, we speculate on up-and-comers at the bottom of preseason polls all the time, but they're usually limited to starting between 20 and 25. Washington's done nothing to deserve being ranked ahead of teams like Oklahoma State, North Carolina or Baylor. It certainly hasn't done anything to earn a spot ahead of an Oregon team it hasn't beaten since 2003 (0-11 in that span) or a UCLA team it's beaten twice since 2001 (2-10).

I get that Washington has young talent and a well-respected coach in Chris Petersen. I do. I just think that maybe we should pump the brakes a little bit and wait until Washington wins more conference games than it loses under Petersen before christening it a top 20 team. But I'm crazy that way.

I've been saying that for months, but at the same time comparing them to Rutgers is a little different. Rutgers has a lot of questions it must answer before they can be judged as a team. Still, Washington isn't as good as people make them out to be. If Rutgers gets it sh*t together, this could be a good game.

The media has jumped the gun. Washington's breakout year should be 2017 (on paper anyways). With that said, it's nice to see Washington in the limelight once again. It's been a long time since they've gotten so much press.

The Huskies may be overrated (or nol) but Rutgers is plainly just not good at this point. Rutgers fans may well be back to "sailgating" by halfime...
I wouldn't go as far as saying Rutgers is no good. They were 2 plays away from being 6 and 6 even with all the BS going on around them. Yes, at times they played like crap, but other times play hard and gave Michigan State all they could handle.

Its not the Huskies roster that has my attention. Its Chris Peterson. That guys is as good of a coach as there is at the college level imo. He is THAT good.

His coaching vs our LB's scares me to death. He'll figure out how to constantly exploit what has to be the most inexperienced group in the nation at the position.

Who is "Fornelli" anyway?

Just as UW hasn't played a down yet and may not deserve to be ranked 18th, RU hasn't played a down either, and may not deserve to be panned like they are. Petersen is a good coach, he's proven that. I have a feeling that Ash is going to be a good one, too.
It's a lopsided argument to say that, while the Huskies may not be as good as they're ranked, the Knights are "just not good".
I live close to Iowa City and I am a Hawkeye fan but, for some reason, watching the evolution of Rutgers since they joined the Big Ten really intrigues me. I've turned in to a bit of a Scarlet Knights fan (except, of course, when they play Iowa) and am looking for the day when they start surprising some of the oh, so wise prognosticators, and begin knocking off some of the big boys. The day is coming in the not too distant future when Rutgers will put away some of the bad rap they've been getting.

Don't know if the Huskies are overrated, and don't really care to guess. I only want our team showing up ready to play, I want them playing with a chip on their shoulder BECAUSE everyone thinks they will be so bad.
I am hoping to see the players playing for each other, for pride and with resolve. If adversity hits, and during the season it will, well coached teams find a way to fight through it. Our depth is nowhere near where we would like it to be, so improvement is going to come from the player's desire.

Looking forward to see how they answer the challenge. I'm pretty excited to see them get at it.
