Those 3 yard completions are Impressive. Agreed.Pretty disheartening considering our quarterback is currently ranked third in the Big Ten and its still not good enough for some fans. But hey let's listen to the armchair quarterbacks in stead of the real coaches
What drugs do you take when u watch our qb play ? I want some.In some ways I almost hope that Reddig does get a chance, and underperforms just so some of you people will shut up

At least Montana got respect because he could throw deep.On many of the short completions he was late & damn near got his receivers killed.Laviano could not even light up one of the worst teams in the nation, that was short handed.I think he was miserable. There is no upside to this guy that I see.You can't teach arm strength .While under pressure he throws it up for grabs. He constantly misses open guys.I won't go on ,because he will continue to play, regardless of what he does on the field.Joe Montana made a living off of 3-15 yard passes. There are a lot of quarterbacks currently in the NFL who live that way as well. Since when does throwing the ball deep mean anything. Short passes with the occasional deep ball is how the game is played.
He made 2 mistakes today outside of that he was very good. Let's not forget he is a red shirt sopbmore here

That is probably unprecedented over gamesTry and name one single Laviano pass that carried more than 15 yards in the air that wasn't either under thrown or picked off. You can't. There hasn't been one.
There's a difference between some deep balls and the inability to throw the ball out of the back of the end zoneJoe Montana made a living off of 3-15 yard passes. "Short passes with the occasional deep ball is how the game is played."
Any idea when we might see that occasional deep ball?

Asshole post of the year. Congrats. In some ways I almost hope that Reddig does get a chance, and underperforms just so some of you people will shut up
My money's on the armchair QBs vs the "real" head coach who has no credibility in handling QBs.Pretty disheartening considering our quarterback is currently ranked third in the Big Ten and its still not good enough for some fans. Did you watch the game on tv or live at the stadium? Because watching on tv you do not see the entire field. You also do not see that Laviano continues to throw the under neath route even when that is not the most open of the options. There were multiple times today where there were deeper options open where he did not make the throw. There were other times that he made no throw at all when there were clearly open receivers. Just don't think he sees the field well nor can he make many of the throwsJoe Montana made a living off of 3-15 yard passes. Even on the Agudosi TD he underthrew the fade. The announcers made numerous references to missing guys open down the field. Laviano doesn't even attempt to hit those guys. Agudosi had mismatches all day. How many balls did he get, even though they stacked the box daring us to go over the top? It was open season on big plays and we hit 0. We attempted 0.
Laviano is ultimate low risk low reward. You don't and won't beat teams with more talent than you playing that way.
I understand your rationale on saying that statistically Laviano did well
I think the reason so many people want to see what Rettig has is that we likely can't win important games without throwing the ball downfield. And it seems our starter is so suspect at it, that our OC won't even call vertical plays. This is not a recipe for success
Look, Rettig may come in and suck monkey nuts. Probably not, but none of us know since his ONLY SNAPS WERE AGAINST NORFOLK EFFING STATE!! and that's the issue. This staff should be taken to the woodshed for failing to get rettig meaningful snaps through the first 4 games
To me, it is gross incompetence...and that's being kind.
I simply don't get it at all.
Laviano hasn't shown me anything on the field that makes him the best QB for this team.
