Today was my first time back at the RAC since I graduated 17 years ago, and I took my 2 sons (5 and 4). It was one of those games where it just felt like it was going to be a let down. Reality was setting that we are still a raw team when we were down by 13. However, what I witnessed was a team with heart, a team that never gave up, a team that found a way to win despite a poorly played game. And once the crowd got into it, it was really felt awesome. Sure, it was against Hartford, and we should have crushed them, but it was really amazing. I don't know how the rest of the season will go, but its clear we have ourselves a real coach and we will be competitive! The future is indeed bright for us. Pikiell may really be in a position to land some of those studs in the 2018 NJ recruiting class.
It was a great day to be a Rutgers fan, and being there in person today with my boys was special for me (their first live sporting event) . It actually made the pain of this years football season disappear (well not really, but at least for the moment!)
