1. Traffic in and out of the stadium was not bad at all. Stayed to the very end, and made it to Easton Ave and got a parking spot right away.

2. The sideline crowds almost got a proper RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU chant going. The cheer squad is partly to blame for the RURURURURURURURURURURURU messed up tempo. We had a good one going in the 3rd or 4th quarter and the cheer squad started flipping the RU cards faster than Bob Dylan in the Suberranean Homesick Blues Video.

3. There is almost nothing more annoying than sitting near a color commentator who whines and moans out loud about every freaking miscue. I endured 4 quarters of "no pressure," "no arm," "no man coverage," "Falk has all day to throw," blah, blah, blah. Dude infected his young children and they were whining in unison. Stay the f*ck home or tone it down. I don't come to a game to listen your depressing whining.

4. Next most annoying thing is the 3rd down clock arm thing with your neighbor waving their arm right in your face. Focus on making noise.

5. The hot pretzels are really good.

6. Will the referees' microphones ever work properly in HPSS?

7. Verizon cell service was good for the second game in the row. Could check scores on ESPN. com with no problems.

8. Took a colleague who went to Cal Berkley and he remarked that it is nice to have big time college football in NJ. Loved the tailgate atmosphere, stadium and crowd. He wore RU gear and cheered for RU. Despite the result, we had a great time.

+1 on the college atmosphere and the fans playing their part.

My biggest gripe had to do with spending time in the School of Engineering sponsored tailgate. The tailgate was pretty nice but this is the second year in a row where I went there and we lost on the final drive (PSU last year). Obviously it is a SOE jinx and I won't be going back next year.:sunglasses:

The EDM was on point. Finally we are embracing the most popular music of the younger generation in NJ.

It was ridiculous that the baby band kept playing "Happy"...they should play songs more apropos for the current state of the program like "had a bad day" and "I hate everything about you"

We had a couple of perpetual whiners in my section as well. There are times during a game where the criticism of Flood is legitimate but all game long does not add to the overall experience. I can only hope they were not season ticket holders.

The police did the ATV thing down the middle of the tailgate in the black lot. Do these guys need a life or what?

How was the blue lot?

My neighbor is a season ticket holder and a real sour puss. He has now infected his children. It is no way to go to a game, which is supposed to be enjoyable, and no way to go through life. I was listening to an interview with Bartolo Colon the other night, and he was asked about what advice he gives to the younger pitchers--and he said something about enjoying the game and having fun even when things don't go your way. Yes, our team lost, and we are FANS of the team, but to turn the entire game experience into misery is really sad and unnecessary.

One would think that with all that brain power there, that they could design a way to win.

Why is it that I can bring a $1.00 bottle of water into the stadium and it HAS to have a cap on it, yet when I buy one for $4.00 inside the stadium, they remove the cap?

Did they introduce Khaseem Greene on the big screen? I dont remember hearing it but maybe I missed it.

I saw him on the screen but something else happened (maybe a penalty announcement) and they never announced him over the PA system. He just stood there for about 10 seconds and then we never saw him again.

I bring a six-pack of Poland Spring ($2.50) and they never give me a problem. Love me my caps.

It's always great to see Brian Leonard at the games, IMO the most important player in the rise of RU football from the dregs from which it came.

The 3:30 kickoff sooo much better for pre game tailgating.

Do you really not know why water you bring into the stadium needs to be sealed?

I really don't.

Do they think I'm going to bring in a bottle of vodka?

But again, if my bottle coming in needs a cap, let me keep the damn cap on the one I buy, especially when I buy four of them and hand bottles to my two kids.

Yep. The water you bring in has to be sealed so you don't smuggle in alcohol. They used to open the bottles and take the caps. So be happy they let you bring water in and keep the cap.

And I agree that it really makes no sense to take the caps off bottles you buy in the stadium.

Any moron who wants to bring in alcohol simply puts it in a flask or container, and sticks it in their pocket. Preventing fans from bringing in water bottles is a money grab pure and simple, done at arenas and stadiums all across the country.

Don't quite understand why putting caps on bottles going into the stadium affects the contents of the bottle itself be it alcohol or water.

I did hear they remove caps off bottles inside the stadium to prevent fans from flicking them from higher decks at people in lower decks... something that was going on at other stadiums for awhile.

1. Smell of Urine cakes behind Section 124, 125... Yikes!
2. Knights in the NFL video awful. Please change the order and end with Sanu or McCourty not Snyder or Tim Wright in a Bucs jersey for Detroit. Fix it!
3. The R fund ad. Instead of the R U cheer its U R. Makes no sense. Fix it!
4. Thought DJ was god awful. Need a variety of songs for everybody including paying public who is older.
5. Kudos to band for finally playing to the home side! What took you so long!!!
6. Atmosphere and crowd was electric. Everything noon starts are not.
7. If going to be big time have more gates and/or open gates you have. Can not complain about people in stands when funnel fans to one gate.
8. Great to see BL! Why not an interview?

Yesterday I had noticed 'The Birth Place of College Football ' banner on on the walls behind Both Goalposts ! Was this done last week ? Don't think so , and some mentioned it .

It was much easier to read at night. Still do not think should have been moved. Should not be hidden and hard to read behind cheerleaders, security, camera booth. Penny wise and pound fool for silly ribbon board.

While we are on the topic of things to complain about, an older guy behind me in section 131 kept yelling at people to sit down. The problem is that obviously everyone stands up because the people in front of them stand up, so you need to stand to be able to see. I am in row 47, I have no idea why the people in the front of the section need to stand up, probably because it's the young alumni section so people want to keep as much of their student-days game experience as they can, but I know that there is not a chance in hell some guy in row 48 is going to get the people in rows 44-47 to sit down unless everyone in front of them sits down first. Eventually he just moved over to 132 which had plenty of empty seats and he could easily see the field without standing. I don't know why he didn't just do that in the first place.

It is annoying sometimes, but if it bothers you so much to the point that you're going to be yelling at people, then don't buy tickets for the young alumni section. This was an issue last year too.

Good to see McCourty and Leonard on the sidelines. What was up with McCourty's shirt though?

Was curious about the shirt, too.

I know the Boston Ultimate Frisbee club team is called "Death or Glory", and they've won multiple national championships. Only connection I could make, but probably isn't the right one.

In theory, the bottle needs to be factory sealed.

But there is certainly inconsistent enforcement, depending on profile. If you look to be 22, they will probably check you more carefully, and restrict what you bring in more than if you look to be 62.

This has been brought up before. It makes no sense to remove caps from beverages, and if it was so bad, why would they require it on bottles brought in?

Sometimes people who are responsible for stadium policies go to far, with no rhyme or reason. We all understand rules that contribute to safety, but mandatory removal of plastic bottle caps is one that is just baffling.

It was my first time in the blue lot in a while . Friend's son was hosting a tailgate so I stopped over .
What's up with all these sherriff's officers patrolling these lots and snooping at everyone's tailgate ? I know these guys are mostly security guards in the courthouse and maybe they feel very important creepily looking at people grilling food . I won't be back in that lot .
It was very uncomfortable .

Section?

I am afraid to say. What if you are said person? LOL. I am in 104-108 sections. If this continues, I am going to politely tell the guy that while I appreciate his passion for wanting to win, his constant whining out loud is a drag on me and other people around us. He seems like a nice enough guy, and some fans like to vent out loud. But it was nearly every single play that went wrong he would go on a little diatribe about how RU was doing it wrong.

This is all entertainment, and for love of our school, isn't it? When it ceases to be entertainment and fun, I will stop going to games. Sadly, the last 1-2 weeks have take the fun out of it for me. I am not throwing in the towel, but golly some blue sky would sure be nice right about now.

The cheer team couldn't care less about getting the "R-U" chant correct. This has been pretty much documented through cheer team alumni members of this board.
And isn't Zoff's daughter in charge of it? Maybe it is part of the grand conspiracy . . . . .

But I was amused at how fast they were flashing the R and U cards during the chant.

It may be a money grab but Rutgers may have no choice due to concessions contract. If I am Sodexo I would be requiring them to prevent people from brining outside food and drink which hurts my bottom line.

As for number 5 , the home side is actually the side opposite the team. That is why the R is facing that direction. For most of the stadiums life the team was on the other side. When TV started televising most games GS moved the team to the other side sicne the TV / press box is on the 'home" side.

Most of the longest consecutive ticket holders are on that side.

I actually didn't think the environment was "electric," and don't think it has been for about 5 years, when Yoshi became a "thing" at the stadium.

Does anyone remember the almost stadium-wide "Lets Go Rutgers" cheers that would organically grow when there was a pause in the PA for a few seconds? Or "De-Fense!" cheers, or "Give me an R!"

The games used to be much more interactive, and to me, a better experience. The missing element is speaker silence. Now, if we aren't getting 5 second clips of dance music, its an advertisement. There's never any opportunity for organic crowd-led cheers. I know money talks and we need to pay for all the progress, but is today's game day experience manager afraid of what might happen if there were 15-20 seconds of silence from the PA?

To me- the glory years of being a fan was before they monetized the '05 and '06 success. Better side to side RU cheers, more interaction...I felt like I was a part of the army then.

WRONG!! That USED to be the home side, then they changed it and gave fair warning to ticket holders that it was gonna switch so if you still wanted to sit on the HOME side, you could move. Just because many long time season ticket holders stayed on that side does not make it the home side.
