They apologize for assistants too. If players can’t run a scheme or have technical issues shooting passing recognizing defenses then someone needs to be hired with expertise in these areas
I wish Pike would fling an f'ing chair or yell at these kids. They are so much better than this. They need someone to bark and fire them up. They cannot coast. It is aggravating.
Why? No shooters. When you have no shooters the coaching should revolve around getting the ball in the paint. Our coaches don’t understand that or our players are not smart enough basketball wise to understand this. Myles Johnson should be force fed and driving the lane should be constant. If anyone is caught standing there holding the ball for more than two seconds or standing around sit them. This is horrific.
I’m really really pissed at the coaching this game. The insistence on certain substitution patterns regardless of game flow is maddening. Changed the entire complexion of this game.
What is Pikell’s strategy for the 2nd half? Be ultra nice and pleasant? Tell everyone after the game what a well coached team Maryland is. 🤬
Its crunch time as the season nears completion and the offense is starting to resemble how the team performed with the 5 game losing streak.

Maryland is 0-6 when allowing opposing teams to score 73 pts or more. They also have not allowed the opposing team to score more than 61 pts ion 6 of last 8 games. Game over folks.
again go watch any team and their offensive sets..we aren’t any different. It’s just about bad execution and hesitation/confidence in shooting.
We just go through the motions in the weave and passing instead of looking to attack and bad movement by a few out there to get into position. We also settle for jump shots. It’s not the offensive sets

Once again I don’t understand how any D1 team can only score 20 points at half. It’s an f’n joke. Even Penn state is putting up 80 against Ohio state the other night. RU is the worst offense I’ve ever seen. I don’t understand why I block off hours of my life for this slop
Didn't we go with the "Twin Towers" lineup the first Maryland game? Given their lack of a big man and our lack of anything offensively, why not give it a shot again?
Paul, Ron, MM, Caleb, and Cliff all played poorly. Myles and Geo played well and JY played decently. We need better.
We could’ve, even with this terrible offense, because the defense is good to great and even these offensive “strategies” can put up points if people get hot.
It’s not clear what you think we should do differently though because your only critique is “stop shooting threes” when we already shoot the fewest threes in the conference.
Depends how you define “win with this offense”. I mean we’ve been like the 25th-30th best team the last two years with this terrible offense and it’s not like we’re stacked with 5 star recruits or anything.
It’s almost like they hate Myles. The only one that even tries to look for him is Mulcahy.
That's something I've never figured out. JY and Mathis could be so much more effective if they passed after penetration when it's obvious they're not going to get a good shot. I don't mind aggressively going to the hoop some of the time, but not all of the time.
Correct. All that constant dribbling around the perimeter is useless

To be fair our guys tend to stop running the offense when things start going south. They are pressing. They need to calm down and execute. The shots will fall eventually if they do that.
I’ll grant you that anything would look bad with shooting this bad and that we obviously look better with not everyone in a shooting slump.
but still, there is a shit ton of wasted time on many many possessions that leads to terrible forced looks at the end of the shot clock. It’s not bad shooting that causes that..
Why does everyone assume RHJ is in a shooting slump. You take his 1st 4 games where he shot very solid from.3pt land
Since he's 5 for 49 including today....somewhere in those 50 shots you have to get lucky and hit a few more. Maybe he just shot over his head the 1st 4 games. Dont thinknhes hit 20 pts since game 4
