Why? He’s got two more games to get his feet wet without burning a year. Really no harm in giving him a play or series here and there against Indiana or Maryland

He's still not fully ready, specifically physically. He easily could get injured if he plays this year and if that happens you run the risk of "ruining" his mental state. Look at how other decently touted QB recruits have fared here when getting thrown to the wolves.
