Football GAME THREAD: Rutgers vs. Maryland

Schiano got involved

Yea but it's not like GS wasn't here last year. It was working fairly well last after so many years of offensive futility and now we've gone back to that futility. Why would you change anything. Unless you're thinking he was so concerned about everything with COVID and all that came with it that he didn't tinker with the OC and now he can.

Maybe Schiano got pissed that someone other than him was getting positive publicity.

I’m thinking that is exactly what happened. Covid threw a lot on his plate that he wouldn’t have otherwise had to deal with. They also weren’t sure they were playing a until late.

Now he’s had a whole offseason to implant his conservative Schiano ball approach. He’s a relic incapable of learning. Great administrator and organizer but he’s not a good head coach. Not now. He’s a D coordinator in big time football.

If there's a "plus" to this, Greg handled those last 30 seconds just about as perfectly as you could.

Well we've had a miracle comeback against Maryland before. Maybe it will happen again. Not likely, but maybe?

People say weird things when they are mad.

Discount what is written on a game day thread.

Schiano should get into the mind of our lacrosse coach. He was a d guy when he first got here then did a 180 to straight run and gun uptempo risk taking offense. It’s not easy to be accepting of the risks that come with playing aggressively but it can be done. Sometimes the best thing you can do is give up control. Schiano doesn’t have that in him sadly. He’s old school as it gets.
