How do you sell a practice facility with this coach and a dead program. ..Hobbs will run into the same problems that Julie and Tim encountered
Better facilities can only help the program, even with this staff, but surely would be a demand from any respectable HC after EJ.

I love Eddie and called for him to be the coach for a long time now. I want him to succeed. I am even willing to put up with more losing if I can see progress. The Wake Forest game was frustrating, but at least I saw some things that I though were positive. Today was just a terrible effort. There is no excuse for many of the things we see in these games. This team looks like it has never been coached.

Eddie has said that the defense would be better. He also said that the team had some shooters and would run offense to free up those shooters. Sadly, I have seen zero evidence of these things. Out of respect for what Eddie did, stepping into this disaster to help his school, I am not yet ready to pull the plug. I don't expect this team to be good or play in the postseason. I know it takes time to build and EJ started with basically nothing. But I have seen absolutely nothing that would lead me to believe that anything is going to change with the current coaching situation. It's time to start showing at least minimal progress on the court in actual games.

Facilities my butt. Yeah that's part of it but these kids he's bringing in can't play at this level..with the exception of a few...and he can't coach them to get better. Just watch that game...it's a disaster in almost every facet of the game.

He brings Daniels in and it's a train-wreck. Probably about a 20 point swing. He goes to a CYO weak zone and the big guys don't even find a body to box out. Diallo throws up an air ball layup from zero feet out. And aside from an early hot streak, no one can shoot. I feel sorry for sanders (hair-do and all) and hope he stays.

Facilities your what? Huh? What's the terrible play today have to do with the long-run needs of this program?

Better facilities + Sanders + Freeman + Nigel Johnson (eligible next year) can't hurt in landing another high-level juco looking for immediate pt--like Freeman

What will come first ,a new practice facility or a winning season?I have very little confidence either will happen within the next 3 years.

Of Course facilities can't hurt but it's been the flavor of the day excuse to cover up a coach who isn't getting it done. If Jordan knew what he was doing he's get better talent than this.

I doubt if many playes iare saying I'm not going to rutgers because they have no practice facility. The teams has virtually no B1G talent and they don't win any games and the coach is bringing in mostly bringin in kids that LaSalle and Drexel aren't even looking at.

We have ZERO recruits for next year. There's a million problems but zero recruits is bigger than a practice facility. A real coach would be a nice first step.

Also I realize Nigel Johnson is coming next year. If we had a Nigel Johnson today maybe we lose by 22-23 instead of 30 but I kinda doubt it

You're getting off point- don't you think we do better in recruiting with better facilities?

Yes we need better facilities but better facilities doesn't teach players to box out, how to play a zone, not to force shots, how to shoot free throws and most importantly how to give effort. If people think this is defensive effort just because a player looks like he's moving you are kidding yourselves. it so obvious we need better facilties but let's focus on the bigger problem that can also be fixed more quickly.

I don't disagree we need better coaching--just don't see that panning out until there is a commitment from the school to invest in and upgrade MBB facilities.

I was a strong EJ supporter for YEARS before he was hired. I cannot fathom how he had 2-3 HC jobs in the NBA yet his teams here at RU look so inept.

None of the players are learning anything for three years. 1) Lewis has regressed. Never thought much of him but last year he seemed poised to make a leap. Cannot rebound, block shots, alter drivers' line to the basket, even move very much on defense. He has developed a nice medium range jumper, but especially for a 6-9 250 pound center, can't make a contested layup.

Bishop Daniels inadequacies have been chronicled enough. Has he made ONE STEP FORWARD?

Williams plays some decent defense, but what has happened to a deadly HS shooter?

There is some talent here. Goode is a smart player, with a picture perfect shot. Why is he NEVER open? What kind of offense do we play that two pretty good spot up shooters rarely get an open look with a PG who passes like a seasoned veteran?

Why can't our two 4s finish? Foreman still gets to the basket as last year but the shots are often not even close.

Eddie, you can't even teach them how to press!! They do run well when they rebound, but too often the opponents want it more.

I know I'm rambling, but the frustration is exasperating. After Hobbs finds a FB coach, he should develop a list of potential hires for the BB program. The program better show some progress through the end of the year, or at the very least the whole coaching staff (even 'shoes') should be dumped and BB teachers brought in and a short list for HC made. Recruiter would be nice, but no recruit is coming here when they watch the product on the floor.
