I was a strong EJ supporter for YEARS before he was hired. I cannot fathom how he had 2-3 HC jobs in the NBA yet his teams here at RU look so inept.
None of the players are learning anything for three years. 1) Lewis has regressed. Never thought much of him but last year he seemed poised to make a leap. Cannot rebound, block shots, alter drivers' line to the basket, even move very much on defense. He has developed a nice medium range jumper, but especially for a 6-9 250 pound center, can't make a contested layup.
Bishop Daniels inadequacies have been chronicled enough. Has he made ONE STEP FORWARD?
Williams plays some decent defense, but what has happened to a deadly HS shooter?
There is some talent here. Goode is a smart player, with a picture perfect shot. Why is he NEVER open? What kind of offense do we play that two pretty good spot up shooters rarely get an open look with a PG who passes like a seasoned veteran?
Why can't our two 4s finish? Foreman still gets to the basket as last year but the shots are often not even close.
Eddie, you can't even teach them how to press!! They do run well when they rebound, but too often the opponents want it more.
I know I'm rambling, but the frustration is exasperating. After Hobbs finds a FB coach, he should develop a list of potential hires for the BB program. The program better show some progress through the end of the year, or at the very least the whole coaching staff (even 'shoes') should be dumped and BB teachers brought in and a short list for HC made. Recruiter would be nice, but no recruit is coming here when they watch the product on the floor.
