Let’s wait for Vegas and strong competition before forming expectations. Beating up on Monmouth isn’t remotely representative of Big Ten play, let alone NCAA tournament play.

Yep, lot of bad D. I mean, I get it, it’s hard to get energized when there’s no real challenge. But this where we need to tune things up. If I was Pike, I’d be pissed if we don’t end with at least a 30 point lead.

I am completely relaxed. I’m a fan so there’s no reason to get stressed.
But if I was the coach, I would be very stressed by the lack of effort on D. This half-assed play is when players get hurt due to a lack of proper focus.
I’m simply saying I’m sure in a tight Big Ten game I’m sure we would see better defense
Although I’ll also add this team might just not be great on defense. We might need to win with the offense

My God this is horrible play right now. They look like chickens with their heads cutoff running around aimlessly on D.
Bashir making himself a lot of money for next year
This is the coaching problem, not a player problem. Why aren’t you on this guy the second they move beyond halfcourt? Was the same with St. Peter’s the other day, can’t let one guy kill you.
When a team loses intensity and focus, it tends to snowball and becomes very difficult to regain. It’s how most comebacks from big point deficits occur. We will be in those situations, up by a bunch and losing focus in much more important games.
So this is a relatively safe teaching moment for Pike. Which is why he should either be pissed, or at least fake being pissed, to let the players learn to never let up.
It’s no longer just on D. It started on D and spread to both sides of the ball. The energy left the building and now it’s gonna be really tough to bring it back in.
The issue isn’t the team, it is the coaching. Pike should have someone shadowing Bashir, and not give him any open shots.

we aren’t doing anything this year unless our D steps up. Are guys bored, bad, or just out of position? Have you o take it personal and lock in every possession. Can’t just turn it on and turn it off. scoring in the 80s and 90s you should win by 30 plus
