Awesome time in Section 5! I'd say it was easily 75% RU fans in our section.
For sure - but it was an extreme longshot. The clock ticks on the onside attempt so time likely would’ve expired there anyway.why give up any chance to do an on-sides kick ?!? I’ll take it but we’d be livid if RU ended a game like that
That is why some of us like sitting upstairs at SHI. 207, baby! Right in front of the 52.I loved the high/wide shot of the field - didn't have to guess what was going on in the defensive backfield on passes, especially long ones.
Scoring wasn't the problem against UCLAIllinois beats Michigan State 38-16. Beat them at home next week and it looks 8 wins are possible. 8-4 opens up some better bowl game possibilities. And with the new open offense we could have beaten Nebraska and UCLA. But I will be thrilled if we get to 8 wins. We will now be a much more entertaining team for a bowl game.
Too cold/windy up thereThat is why some of us like sitting upstairs at SHI. 207, baby! Right in front of the 52.
Same here - first row at the 50 in 224, right across from you. That is why some of us like sitting upstairs at SHI. 207, baby! Right in front of the 52.
How many RU fans were in the Stadium???Same here - first row at the 50 in 224, right across from you.
Same with me.Great win. I honestly thought the team was dead at 4-4. Complete 180. Defense is tackling, DL getting pressure on the QB. Defenders aren't giving up major chunks on every pass, nor are they giving up major holes for the backs to run through.
Two games in a row they've given up less than 20, and the offense has done an awesome job becoming pass first. Athan looks much more comfortable. The WR's are getting open and making big plays. The OL has done a great job giving Athan time after two major injuries.
I'm just stunned at the turnaround.
I’m in the lower bowl 124 no windSame here - first row at the 50 in 224, right across from you.
The offense was fine against UCLA. Our injuries to the D were at their worst in that game. Like 2/3 of the starters were out or playing hurt.Illinois beats Michigan State 38-16. Credit to the coaching staff. Fixing the team, with so many injuries, is a huge compliment to their work effort.
Not only that, but they made a substitution when they were inside the ten with the clock running so the refs held the snap while we subbed. Our guy jogged off and ran ten seconds off the clock. There was a near-total lack of urgency by Maryland on that last possession, as if their goal was a window-dressing score and not to somehow get to OT still. Once you are the 40, you don't try to go deep at least once to Felton? I'm sure we were playing deep, but the way it played out, they had zero chance of winning even if they scored a TD with 10 seconds left.
No matter. BOOM! So nice to clinch bowl eligibility on their field, too, after the way that series has gone the last few years.
Ray Rice at the game
Cool! Didn’t know he was there. Now I see the two of them enjoying the moment in my pictures from the stands.
It wasn’t bad in the middle of the game but Maryland fans left earlier than they should have and were gone before the end. I got one of the best tickets bought for $6 the day of the game. What was the deal with attendance? There was no one there. Terrible look for UMD, if you wanna front as a P2 program you can’t bring a C-USA crowd. Look at the losing teams in the SEC, they still bring 75% capacity.
