The B1G broke the ice, so now other conferences are beginning their schedules; lots of top 25 teams playing, too.

Big Ten

None

Other RU opponents

Vanderbilt 72 Columbia 51 – last pre-SEC tuneup
Georgia Tech 61 Virginia 51 – fairly close most of the way

Other ranked teams

#3 Oregon State 69 Cal State Bakersfield 50 – 34-14 at the half
#7 Louisville 62 Syracuse 58 – a lot closer than I would have guessed
#8 Florida State 86 Virginia Tech 62 – Seminoles move to 13-0
#9 North Carolina State 72 Boston College 54 – not quite as bad as it looks
#10 UCLA 83 Southern California 59 – Dean and Onyenwere led the Bruins with 21 each
#11 Texas A&M 85 Texas A&M Corpus Christi 48 – beating up on the little sister
#15 Mississippi State 89 Arkansas Little Rock 50 – not really close but 27-9 4th quarter made it even worse
#16 DePaul 89 Marquette 71 – Held had 22 for the Blue Demons
#17 Gonzaga 62 Portland 57 – surprisingly close
#18 Arizona 58 Arizona State 53 – 2-point game after 3rd
#20 Arkansas 96 Tennessee Martin 46 – ouch
#22 Tennessee 88 Howard 38 – ouch again
#24 Miami 59 Wake Forest 56 – took a 21-12 4th quarter for the Hurricanes to pull it out
#25 Texas 91 Northwestern State 49 – Longhorns celebrate pre-break upset with a blowout

Also – the rest of the BEast games plus all the OT games plus some more

St. John’s 75 Xavier 67 – Musketeers are pretty bad, so this was closer than I would expect
Seton Hall 67 Butler 62 – Lewis had 17 for the Pirates
Creighton 65 Georgetown 56 – two teams going in opposite directions
Villanova 51 Providence 49 - Princeton 77 New Hampshire 37 – 24-3 1st and 31-8 3rd, but otherwise even
Stony Brook 78 Bucknell 73 2OT – Pagan had 25 and 9 for the Seawolves
Jacksonville 87 Mercer 83 OT – Dolphins came back from 14 down after 3rd
Austin Peay 77 Illinois State 72 OT – close all the way
Massachusetts Lowell 61 Fairleigh Dickinson 56 OT – also close all the way
Florida Gulf Coast 78 Duke 56 – would have been shocking before this year
Clemson 71 Notre Dame 55 – actually still shocking, because Clemson isn’t any good
Washington 65 Washington State 56 – Miegoza had 17 for the Huskies

Oh, and there were 4 games with margins of 50+ today, including the Tennessee and Arkansas games. Here are the rest:

North Texas 114 Texas A&M Texarkana 54 – McDowell had 26 and 12 for North Texas
Texas Tech 115 Texas San Antonio 58 – Gordon had 31 and 11 for the Red Raiders

Bear Down, Arizona. Sorry, Madhat, I do like my Wildcats. (Admittedly, I like CTT so - unlike any other sport at the Arizona Normal School - I only root against them when they are playing us. Any other sport, not so much)

Too bad the 'Canes pulled it out. They could have freed up a spot in the Top 25 for RU.
