Last day of the regular season, and every game was a conference championship, so they're all games of interest. Also, one really fun nickname and one really boring one.

Big Ten

None

Other RU opponents

Bucknell 79 Navy 71 OT - Mids tied it with 9 seconds left, but ran out of gas
Robert Morris 65 Bryant 52 - Colonials led pretty much the whole way
Pennsylvania 57 Princeton 48 - not as close as it looks

Other ranked teams

#20 Drake 74 Northern Iowa 69 OT - Bulldogs came back from 10 down after 1st half to force OT

Also

Central Arkansas 60 Stephen F. Austin 35 - Proffitt led the Sugar Bears to the championship with 21
Florida Gulf Coast 77 Stetson 70 - Dow had 31 for the Eagles
North Carolina Asheville 49 Radford 48 - Fitzgerald hit 2 free throws with 5 seconds left to win it for Highlanders
Troy 78 Louisiana Lafayette 64 - back to back titles for the unimaginatively named Trojans

Today

Other RU opponents 1-2

Year to Date:

Big Ten 115-59
Other RU opponents 221-122 (yes, I noticed)

There were no palindromic scores in 8 games today. There were 39 palindromic scores in 5,195 games this season.

This was the final Games of Interest for this season. It's been a pleasure, as always.

Look for RU opponents in the postseason soon, coming to a message board near you.

BeK,

Thank you again for doing this all season.

How does the palindromic tally this year compare to previous? It seems down, but maybe that is a selective memory.

I assume the observations about mascots may mean a mascot bracket is coming out soon?

Is Sugar Bear the female version for the bears mascot?
When I hear Sugar Bear, I think of a cereal commercial.
Wikipedia doesn't make it clear why they (Central Arkansas) use Sugar Bear (they had used Bearette earlier, so that seems just as bad.)

Go RU! .

Palindromicity (I made that up) seems to have been relatively steady the last few years. There were a lot more (call it 1 in every 100 games) the first year I did it, but I think that may have been a blip.

I expect to do a mascot bracket again because I really like doing it.
