Pretty good night for the B1G, except for one team that looks pretty bad.

[Edited to update the Washington State score and add the Texas score, which I inexplicably missed.]

B1G

#2 Texas 100 McNeese State 34 - I always wonder how the crowds feel about these games
#9 Ohio State 99 Idaho 56 - 18 and 18 for Harper to lead the Buckeyes
Penn State 80 Marshall 65 - The Herd led by 7 after 1st quarter
Purdue 75 Miami (OH) 66 - Harris had 22 and 11 for the Boilermakers
Illinois 66 Chicago State 56 - not really quite this close, but should have been a blowout
Iowa 105 Northern Illinois 80 - Hawkeyes 3-0, all at home
Wisconsin Green Bay 67 Wisconsin 34 - this is not a typo

Other RU opponents

#13 Tennessee 89 James Madison 60 - never close
Wake Forest 85 Richmond 81 - Spider comeback fell short
Western Michigan 65 Loyola Chicago 47 - Broncos 2-1, all on the road

East Tennessee 70 Appalachian State 57 - was tied after 3rd
NC State 87 North Carolina Asheville 55 - 25-7 1st quarter
Harvard 75 Siena 67 - Saints blew 11-point 1st quarter lead

Other ranked teams

#18 Oregon State 98 Utah Valley 41 - Pivec had 18 and 6 plus 8 assists for the Beavers

Washington State came back and won 74-70. Not thinking that means anything except that San Francisco isn't very good or was outmatched..

I see that the head coach of San Francisco the last couple of years is Molly Goodenbour who played at Stanford, they were 18-13 last year. She replaced Jennifer Azzi, another Stanford grad, who resigned in 2016 as her wife was pregnant and she wanted to concentrate on family. After a very rocky start, the last couple of years of her 6 year coaching career were quite successful. Interesting stuff, which I didn't know.
