Two names that have not been getting much chatter - yet, could be on some lists?

Gene Chizik
Bright Shining moment - National Championship at Auburn - - - UGH- Auburn plummeted into mess
Have not heard his name as a candidate for anywhere - but have heard him getting lots & lots of praise for the turn around of the UNC defense - would guess that if anybody is talking to him, he is staying ultra low key until after the Clemson game.
Not sure if this one year at UNC has been enough to put him back on the map - or if he is even eager to return to being HC somewhere ... but have to figure that someplace are watching him.

Ed Orgeron
Bright shining moment - The Blind Side & 15 minutes of fame at USC - - - UGH - ??? 10-25 at Ole Miss
It seems like only moments ago that Orgeron was on a bunch of 'short lists' figured he would end up somewhere .... now he is the DL line coach at LSU (not currently a place to make long term plans)
Did hear somebody say he could be a Syracuse possibility ... he was there for a couple of years back in the 90's

They may be willing to re-invest in themselves & make a move next year ? but suspect that if the phone rings, they will answer & listen.

After reading "Meat Market" I want Ed Orgeron to be a head coach somewhere, but not here. Chizik had the one big moment at Auburn but was a mess as an HC otherwise, and would be one of those hires that sounds more impressive than it actually is.

Yes - let it be clear - not advocating either for RU - but just figure their names are going to be in the mix at some point - and maybe the impact for RU is that - if they are in play - they might fill a spot, narrowing the open positions.

I don't see a P5 school making a strong play for Chizik, and my sense is that if Orgeron was going to get a P5 coaching job again he'd have already gotten one. From what I gather he's wanted to get an HC job ever since he got fired at Ole Miss.

Nice post. I like these two a lot better than Cristobal, Golden or Diaco. Ogeron can certainly recruit and I love his passion. His pressers would be interesting as well.
