Here's his Rivals profile. Currently a BC commit, but that shouldn't be a problem for Coach Ash.

Smart money already understands that our current Elite 11 QB commit isn't a great fit for the kind of offense Ash wants to run. There's a good chance Russo bolts. If so, I thank him for his commitment to Rutgers, the effort to date and wish him the best of luck in the future.

The offense Ash wants to run and the one he winds up running may not be the same thing, at least initially. Is Russo not a mobile QB?

But the truth is why are we even spewing this kind of stuff about Russo at this point. Russo's committed to us, and he's been incredibly loyal, and great to us. We don't need threads like this that put more doubt in a kid's head. We have no idea who the OC is yet, and let them decide if Russo's right.

What offense will Ash run and what is your source?

At what point within the past 5 hours has Ash indicated what offense he wants to run here and who is capable of running it? I know you guys are excited but some of you need to relax. Atleast wait until his press conference sheesh.

For certain nothing is set in stone - but Ash comes from a coaching lineage that leans toward highly mobile QBs. If you do the Google work, there are quotes from him praising those offensive strategies. Russo's only downside is that he's not terribly mobile.

Could Ash come to RU and install a pro set O? Sure. Let's see who he hires as OC.

Could Russo stick and potentially be adapted into a different system? Sure. But bear in mind the fact that he's started following basically everyone in Happy Valley on Twitter. Could mean nothing, could mean something.

Point is, if Ash wants to go with his personal comfort zone for an offensive scheme, Anthony Brown is a great fit.

Wow! What a fool. Worst poster in the history of this board.

Ash said he builds schemes around his players. Ash also said his ideal offense would be somewhere between Bielema's ground and pound and Meyer's spread. Can Russo roll out and be accurate with his passes? If so he's more than mobile enough.God some of you guys are so set on the spread you'll ditch good players to do it. Dumb.

Franklin wants to run a spread, so that wouldn't make a ton of sense.

Hopefully that is accurate. I love the hybrid offenses. Best of both worlds.

Coming from Wisconsin, Arkansas and Bielema, I think Ash is going to be very pleased with our stable of RB's and get them plenty of carries.

If Ash wants to go after Anthony Brown he better start immediately, Anthony will graduate a the end of the 1st Semester from St. John Vianney and is planning on entering BC in January for the 2nd Semester and competing in Spring Practice.

If we're going to be running an offense similar to OSU's, then Anthony Brown and Russo should both come here. It's not like QBs in that offense don't get pretty banged up on a regular basis. Both would find playing time.

Behind Laviano, I mean.

The reason why I'm skeptical of this is that I had 2 of my own kids graduate from SJV - one of whom was a D1-caliber athlete - and both of them have just confirmed that they have never known anyone to "graduate" SJV a semester early and don't think it's allowed. This is consistent with my recollections when I was helping to coach one of the teams, one year.

Well, according to his Rival's evaluation you're wrong so there's that to start with. Just because a QB isn't expected to or the coach doesn't want him to run doesn't mean he's not mobile.

Russo opened a lot of eyes in the Elite 11. He has had an incredible HS career. We should all hope he keeps his commitment.

Nobody wants to "dump" anyone but if the guy decides he's going to do things a specific way, and kids leave, that's not our problem, that's all. Expect it to happen.

SJV got crushed today, I t know the score. 40-17. Brown had a pretty good game and had a lot of big plays called back . He is the real deal, would love him here.

Did you see the game? Wondering how Matt Bordfeld played at LB. I'm good friends with the family - my oldest ran with Matt's older sister - and the kid has great measurables for a Junior.

Brown announced that this week. Was SJV a Block Schedule school when your kids went there?

Fully expect to run a power/spread hybrid like OSU or Auburn and IMHO you run it from Day 1 and don't try to appease any 1 kid. The future begins today!!
So I guess that means you want Laviano at QB because no other QB on the roster fits the bill. You run this from day 1 with no QB who can run it, you'll end up with 4 QBs injured. Can't fit a square peg into a round hole here. I think he knows he's going to have to ease into it until he finds his guy or guys because this offense is brutal on QB health.

You don't need a mobile qb to run the spread. You do need a qb who can pass the ball. Russo certainly can do this.

Look I'm not saying your r lying as I don't follow any of our recruits or players on Twitter. But this seems odd to me as Penn State already has the elite quarterback (that Jake Z kid who just missed the elite 11).

Would they take two of them? That doesn't make any sense

Yep. As far as I remember, it's always been block scheduling. The oldest graduated in '10, so she started in '06, and it was block, then.

I just talked to both of them and they both said that it would be unprecedented, as SJV has specific requirements for all 8 semesters. They would have to make a very specific exception to even allow him to complete his requirements out of sync with the calendar.

Gio? Listen, I'm sure some concessions will have to be made, but so help me God I can't imagine ANY coach taking over this program and wanting to see the same crap, on O, come September (and that's not a shot any any 1 kid, however, the system and playcalling...).

(yes, I'm 100% fine with "throwing away" a season, with a NEW staff, IF it makes us better in the long run....)

Brown is 100% enrolling at BC next semester, no questions about it

I want Russo right here...he deserves some loyalty from us.

Penn State was after the South Carolina QB from Pa. after Spurrier quit. The elite teams always goes after 2 4 star QB recruits. Michigan has two from 2015 and 1 4stars in 2016 with a 5.7 3 star.

NO, "Point is" that this post is incredibly premature!
