Depends on Corey. If he leaves, we are losing 3 of our 4 best players this season. Yes, we are adding talent, but it will be talent that needs to mesh and grow together. And with 20 conference games, that means only 11 non conference games, and it's a tougher schedule than this year.

Depends on Corey and how we develop in the off season. Thiam's development is probably the most important. He needs to step up big time and to be a legit scoring threat every time he has the ball in his hands. Let's see how Kiss, Shaq Carter and Myles Johnson can contribute next year. If Mathis can contribute like Geo did this year, it would be awesome.

If all things fall into place, we can and should be a mid level Big Ten team.

coming into the year I said would sign on the dotted line for 16-15/6-12

next year I will sign on the dotted line for 16-15/7-13
Winning 6/7 league games will be very difficult without some wins on the road. The out of conference win total will also be impacted by road games.

Road games are not nearly as important as winning back the fans at the RAC...with 10 B1G home games, there will be weekend games that should be close to sold out....dependent on the roster and Sanders/rest of recruiting will help.

Our record this year was 3-15 in the B1G. The 3 wins were Northwestern at home, Iowa at home and Wisconsin at home.

We will enter B1G ranked 14th in the preseason. 6 b1g wins would be overachieving.

Unless we start running an offense and can actually score, I don't see it happening. Going ISO with 8 seconds left on the shot clock is not an offense.

our mini run might get us the nod over Iowa for 13th

Not unless Iowa losses some of their young talent.

On paper we will be losing a lot. People will look at our full resume and not a mini run in B1GT.

Minnesota and Northwestern are teams ripped to get jumped next year.

Lots of rumors about attrition at Illinois. Mark Smith (who was awful this year but he was a 4* prospect) already announced a transfer, and there are rumors about Finke and Nichols transferring along with Leron Black turning pro.

They do have a 5* incoming recruit though.

I dont see it at Iowa at all..is Bohannon gone?

I think Northwestern eithout expectations bounces back..maybe not to ncaa but not the trash they were this year

Pike and Rutgers did well this year with building it up. They are on their way...

Iowa does have a lot of sophs of which Bohannon is one. they also had 2 players out with injuries of which one is McCaferry's son. They should be better. I think Wisconsin will also be improved.

Where did you get the info above?

- True on Mark Smith
- Finke is a senior so he graduates.
- Nichols is a transfer from Tulane so I doubt he will transfer again especially being that he is a star on that team.
- Black was a major disappointment as I thought he would be the star of the Illini so I can see him transferring. Don't know how he could play pro.
- Illini has a 5* and now a 3* in Alan Griffin committed.

Remember again that Underwood is a new coach so turnover will occur.

As long as Nichols and Frazier and the 5* is as good as advertised, they'll be a formidable foe and I think Underwood will turn things around there.

Like I said this year, just get over .500. It'll be the 1st time over .500 in 13 yrs.. That will be talked about as progress and continue a positive perception around the program. Just like the B1G tournament salvaged that positive perception for this year. Baby steps yes, but baby steps in the right direction.

That’s funny with Finke. It seems like he has been playing 5 years. Thought there was no way he could still have eligibility. Maybe 2 wins against RU get vacated for playing illegal player

It depends on whether this added talent proves that it can shoot the ball accurately and otherwise be effective offensively against B1G opposition game in and game out.

With a lot more road games out of conference...the best we can realistically hope for is 9-2 out of conference.

So to be 18-13....means being 9-11 in big ten play

That probably means being 8th or 9th...

I would give that a shot...if Corey returns and has a very good senior year.

I’m hopeful that our anemic offense was partially by design to shorten the game since were offensively challenged.

I will sign up for 16-15 for sure. 5-6 B10 wins would be great progress.

And I am not so sure we will have an anemic offense next year. We havent even seen the new guys shoot yet. We know GEO can score...we had NO idea he was THAT good until he hit the floor in a game.

Finke is a junior, I've seen some scuttle about him transferring (maybe as a grad). I'm not going to pretend I have any kind of inside info but I've heard Illinois fans discussing this.
