Good Game

You mean well. Thanks for the gesture. But, no, it was not a good game from an RU alumni and fan perspective. It was a good game only from a Nebraska perspective.

If you were at the game, just know that it was an extremely apathetic RU crowd and I wish you could witness our atmosphere when it is at it's best.

No our Kids didn't mail it in but our coach certainly did. How do you call a fake punt from your own 30 down only two scores. What's the reward 1st down on your own 34. Risk almost an automatic 3pts. to allow them to go up three scores literally ending the game. One of the dumbest calls I've ever seen. Congratulations to you good luck the rest of the way. Our fortunes are tied to our coach which doesn't bode well for us.

Husker fans were as advertised. The seats behind mine are owned by a scalper so I always have visiting fans behind me. Guys were intense, knowledgable, and educated. Was a very enjoyable game outside of the actual football. Ironically, was surrounded by Husker fans and the only asshole turned out to be a PSU fan.

I know you are all hurting, we have done a fair amount of hurting this year as well. The way college football is nowadays, there is a fine line between doing well and having a few down years. I know Rutgers will figure it out and be on the upswing sooner than later. That being said, in 46 years of watching college football I have to say the fake punt was one of the most astonishing things I have ever seen. You were down by only two scores in the third Q, had some momentum, our QB was starting to get rattled, and you had the wind for the punt. That had to be terribly discouraging for the players and fans.

Dumb call, I guess clueless Flood has no confidence in laviano.

I changed my mind Husker fans suck. Lol. Our QB sucks, our HC sucks, the only thing we got is hope. After that play I looked at a Husker fan and said I almost feel like he cares. I'd rather be aggressive and lose than watch us die slowly on the vine.

Running the ball on first down all the time and it is 2nd and 10. Be aggressive.

Appreciate the kind words, Husker. -But what you saw today, perhaps embodied in that ill-advised fake punt, is indicative of the abilities of the person we have on the sidelines as HC.

He's supposedly a good guy, means well, tries to put together a game plan that might work, and even tries a trick play now and again, (as you saw). -But the fact is he was a position coach here with no real qualifications to be made Rutgers' top guy and, truthfully, got the gig pretty much by default. -Not exactly the best criteria on which to base a hire, but that's what happened.

Hopefully, though, that mistake will be rectified in the near future. ...Oh, and as others have said, best of luck against Iowa.
