Goodale With Another Boom!! (Commit)

Jackson Turley is a Virginia kid top 50 recruit for the class of 2019. Good pick up hope he can make 174 in college, think he is ranked at 182 in HS rankings.

He is a 3X VA State Champ, but Virginia has 7 State Champs per weight.

Yep. He is #6 at 182 in latest Flo Rankings.

Some quick info on him: He is a three-time state champion in Virginia and two-time National Prep finalist. He is going for his 4th State title this season. He also won at the Escape the Rock tournament last season.

Goodale has been absolutely on fire recruiting the last month. Any more openings for 2019 or 20 at this point? I think we still need a legit Heavyweight for 2020.
There is always "openings" you don't turn away talent. I would guess the 285 target is class of 2020 Hunter Catka from PA.

Should also be noted that Harry Turner who was/is a SKWC coach has been added to the Rutgers Staff at a newly formed position of Recruiting Coordinator & Player Development, that can only help with recruiting.

Good info., thanks!

Any insight if we are recruiting Zach Delvecchio and/or if he intends to wrestle in college?

Turley is good not great. Lost to two Cornell recruits in prep nationals. Sophomore year lost in a close match to Merola. Last year Rameriz destroyed him 12 to 3. Has potential. Hope he enters Beast of the East this year. Will need to improve a lot to become All American.

He is #5 at his weight. He should, as a senior, reach the podium. Should he do so earlier, its a bonus.

He is a top 50 recruit, Ramirez is ranked 9th for the seniors(Turley 42), no shame in losing to Ramirez. Ru has not had a ton of top 50 recruits over the last few years(mostly 50-100 type kids). Plus, pretty sure this is our first Virginia recruit(not counting Robinson from Blair) so this will also open up some new recruiting grounds.
You never can tell how recruits work out, but IMHO this is a very good get.

This is all I've ever asked for in any sport. Just keep recruiting a little better every year. That should lead to better results, which in turn will facilitate the cycle to continue on an upward path. There was a time when we would die for a top 50 recruit, now they're becoming more prevalent. Goodale and his staff have done a fine job of developing lesser talent, no reason that history should deviate with better talent in the room.
