Gophers giving Iowa all they can handle

Iowa holds on 75-71 despite sleepwalking through the whole thing. Little Ricky"s Gophers have now lost 7 of 8 by single digits and are now 0-13 in league

That's rightvthey still lost but the margin of the scores with the upper tiera teams are not as bad as RU's

Rock the RAC, do they have a full roster? If Grier has a bad game, who is going in for him? Do they have a kid like Williams guarding a kid 6'7"? Can anyone answer this question, did we try to get even a football player on the team? Donovan McNabb was on the cuse 15 years ago. Not being funny but Carlton Agudosi is 6'6'. Could he have played 5 minutes a game?

Minnesota basically plays 8 players. That's on Jordan that Grier isn't all that good..remember a schoolie on Goode plus 3 transfers out all contribute to roster issues and program management so cant just use injuries as a magic wand

Coaches make mistakes on players, Bac do you remember mike Jarvis? Have article, he said Douby was not good enough for the Johnnies. BAC, did you see what I wrote about a football player? And even if he got another guard who was 6'1' he still would have to guard kids like Valentine who are built like football players.

If it was RU losing by single digits, you and others would find that unacceptable.
Margin is only an excuse to knock RU MBB, but I can't claim RU's losses by as much as they do are excusable.

You can take them losing close in a lot of their games however you want. They suck. They are 0-13. They are what their record says. For me its all about winning (or losing in this case). We have fans that feel keeping it under 20 points is a sign of progress. I guess a team that keeps it under 8 half their conference losses might be ready to give their coach a 5 year deal. Minnesota fired Tubby Smith because 18 wins wasn't good enough so now they have 6 with a shot at 8. Little Ricky may only get a 4th year because he has a great class coming in next year. However I think if he goes 0-18 or 1-17 he is going to be kicked to the curb. You cant lose that much and in the end it doesn't matter that they are losing by 8 or 25 they still are losing.

But they have 7 players on their roster 6-8 or over and 3 of them played significant minutes against Iowa. Also had a 6-6 player play a little over 20 minutes against the Hawkeyes.
The two guards that played the most minutes were only 6-4 and 6-1.
Can't say if any of the Gophers are walking wounded, but finding out RU has some players toughing it out playing through their injuries.

How about this? Both teams are god awful. We have a home-and-home with them coming up to officially determine who is the worst team in the B1G this year and end this sad debate.

Gophers lost by 5 at Michigan and 6 at IU-----they haven't mailed it in and I give kudos to the coaching staff for that.

But the record is what the record is .

Having said that I think Pitino gets another year-----on very thin ice.

Rutgers always is in good company when discussing levels of futility. The two games with Minnesota should receive prime time tv exposure. What is amazing is that Penn State and Minnesota are having very good recruiting classes and yet both teams are bottom tier B1G teams this season.Fans expecting major improvement in Rutgers next season should take into consideration the talent level of opponents.
