Groundbreaking for new Multi Sports Facility set

Is this a symbolic groundbreaking with fancy looking shovels and speeches or the start of actual construction with real earth moving equipment?

This is a HUGE, B1G step forward!

Things are coming to together, but the fund was to build more than just this (but this is the biggest part), so please keep donating!

Great news !

How long before someone credits Julie Hermann for laying the groundwork for the building of this facility ?

Thank you, Julie Hermann, for getting this ball rolling!
Yea because she raised so much money for it........stop........was it her vision? Sure. But she sucked so bad it would have never happened because she wouldn't have been able to raise the funds. Thankfully Hobbs will actually make it happen.

Julie Hermann was an obstacle for getting this built FYI :they needed to start ..before state tax credits that Lesnaik secured for project expire..

I think the issues we see now go back to her hiring instead of the other guy. It was her vision but her fundraising was terrible. Still, it starts with an idea so regardless, let's be happy we've got it underway!!!!!

This is supposed to be a feel good thread about the ground breaking. Why bring all the other nonsense into this thread? Who Cares?
Hi I am captain for the build fund. If anyone is interested in joining my team with as little as $10 per month please email me at dvankline@gmail.com. Even if you just want to give a one time donation, every little bit helps. Thanks in advance.

Hopefully donors who were on the fence will hop on board. Sometimes people need something concrete and not just sketches. Good move to get it started without waiting for all the funding to be in place.

Has anyone heard of any other potential projects in line for development?

The funding for this project is mostly done, but there are more than one project that is part of the Big Fund Plan. Which includes nearly every sport. Rutgers will need the full $100 million to do everything.

Learn about all of the projects and donate here: http://www.rutgersbigtenbuild.com/

This story is for the The Multisport Training Complex
The other two projects are
The Lacrosse, Soccer and Tennis Training Complex
The Football Training Complex

guess what?! The Fundraising Captains got invited to the groundbreaking ceremony. We are not shoveling but we will be at the invite only event.

At the Fan Advisory Board meeting the other night I asked why was this invitation only.w Thye want a broad donor base yet exclude many of those donors from this event. Makes no sense to me. I did not get an answer to the question.

I honestly have no idea. I got an email from Pat Hobbs earlier this week and thought it was just another mass email, until I read something this morning that said it was invitation only. I went back to his email and saw that I had to RSVP.

Really, these sort of things are for the press.
It's about 15 minutes of speeches and then some photo posing with chrome plated shovels.

I don't know why anyone would really want to attend it. They are so boring. Grand opening I can understand wanting to attend.

Why am I going to attend?? because I am working my ass off trying to get people to step up and donate and it will be nice to see my efforts and my money and the money of my donors finally start being put to use.
