Gueye

Gueye has had his stock fall a bit from a year ago, so it will be interesting to see if he waits to make a decision and goes in the Fall signing period or waits to see if he can garner more interest.

Lol. And so it continues, the absurdity of basketball recruiting.

Not anywhere close last week, in the discussion this week.

You cannot say this staff isn't persistent.

My guess he will be hanging out at the football game with Diallo and Thiam.

If we get him he will have a year to develop behind seniors Sa and Freeman. That's great for building for the future.

That is hilarious. I don't even like all the flood bashing, but that's good.
I see that my comment was a bit obscure and wasn't really bashing. I was remembering that during a press conference someone had asked him about Fridge. Flood cut off the question and corrected him making him say, "Coach Friedgen."

"Steve's" approach is just the opposite.

I think UAB has done the most work here on Gueye and others have gotten involved late because of the potential upside, but if you find the Youtube highlights, it's pretty clear that a good staff can add some strength and take his upside to another level.

If Thiam and Gueye are on the roster at the same time, there is some unusual size, shooting range, length that RU would have for the future. Add in Gueye's wingspan and the defensive potential he offers is another plus to the equation.

Keep up the good work Hawk. I love your insights

Gueye looks like that Stretch 4 type that Rutgers has not had since Here Lamizana. He has a pretty nice looking outside shot.

Any reports on him making a decision? 247 only has 1 "expert" predicting and its UAB.

6'9/6'10 guys with some handle and shooting are guys we haven't had since Herve. It's one of our biggest holes the past dozen years on this team. Guys like Thiam and Gueye would be great steps toward developing a real balanced basketball team.

I saw Gueye and the team hanging out as I referenced on the midnight mandness thread.

Gueye, Doorson, Thiam, Sa, and Diallo looked like a group of brothers together.

Meaning they all seemed to get along well.I have brothers, but sheesh, it can go the other way. This way was positive.

6 9 and 210. Give him our strength and conditioning coach and we would have a player.

This team could surprise this year and next. Mostly next. As mentioned, I believe Geo is a very talented player. With livi dining hall and a weight room, he is easily a 3 star, and possibly a 4.

It should be fun to watch it all pan out.

That's what I was thinking. Hoping to hear something positive.

It doesnt seem like he has officially visited that many schools. He could be early in his process still. The more time, the worse for Rutgers.

He has, if I recall, used all 5 of his official visits: ODU, Monmouth, UAB, DePaul and Rutgers.

I just read he planned on making his decision after the visit to us this weekend.

From what I read it sounds like we really want this Gueye (see what I did there?). But it's also reassuring to hear that this staff has contingency plans and is confident that they'll definitely pick up another body for 2017.

November 9th is the beginning of the fall signing period. The hope is we fill two spots in the fall.
