Hamilton out for opener...link to non-nj.com content

If there is a doubt, you keep him out against a team like NSU. Zero upside to him playing. There is also zero upside to telling the world when he might come back. Nice to see Flood and Co. maturing in the PR game.

Coach knows best. Keep Hamilton in good health and maybe he will play in the big games at 100% and at the same time raise his NFL stock in those games.

NON nj.com article. NON. Read the title again man.

Flood is resting Hamilton, i'm convinced. Having a home opener against a weak team is a blessing. We need our studs with the least amount of mileage on them as possible this season.

I do not believe this is accurate, unless a sale went through in the last week that I don't know about. Nj.com is owned by Advance Publications, the company that owns the Newark Star-Ledger and the other Newhouse properties, like New Orleans. APP.com is the website for the Asbury Park Press, which was once a family-owned newspaper but is now part of Gannett, which owns the USA Today, Westchester, the Home News-Tribune, my since-departed alma mater, the (Bridgewater) Courier-News, and others.

I hope you guys are right, but I'm more than nervous about DH availabity for this season.

If you say you're not worried about this injury you're either not an RU fan or you are super naive... This could be devastating if it amounts to anything

From their site:

Gannett purchased the newspaper in 1997 as part of the acquisition of New Jersey Press, Inc. The Asbury Park Press and Home News Tribune in nearby East Brunswick are printed at a 190,000-square-foot production facility in Freehold Township.

By "their" site, do you mean the Asbury Park Press' site?

I saw something on Scout which is not too re-assuring. Said that Hamilton hasn't practiced at all since early spring and this could be a lot longer than many think. The reporter (Hellman) even went on to mention that he has a redshirt year available. If he doesn't play this year, those young players in the middle are going to have to grow up in a hurry.

I'm nervous. This is one those "no news is bad news" type of deals. I just get that vibe. I really hope I'm wrong

When is our staff EVER clear with how long a player will be out for? I wouldn't read too much into this for now. We don't absolutely need him until ttfp anyway. If hes still out week 3 then i'll panic. Week to week could mean anything and it could mean nothing. no point in worrying yet.

Saw that too, and have to admit I was a little surprised by the comments of Hellman. -KF has, I believe, referred to Darius' availability as being "week to week" and said he believes DH will play this season, so I didn't give this situation too, too much thought. (Although the fact it seems Darius didn't get a lot of reps in fall camp, if he got any at all, is troubling.)

Lets hope KF is simply being cautious with Darius and doesn't want to take any chances with him in an opening game against a team that RU has outscored in previous meetings by a cumulative total of 128-0.

Well. guess we'll get a better idea of what the situation really is as we go through more games in the upcoming weeks.

You don't think we need him ( and Turay) against WSU ?
If both are out this game will likely be a loss...... They are the Pass Rush on the team.

There are a TON of players out.

NSU still have zero chance to beat us, but it is no longer less than zero :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Huh? I never said anything about Turay. My comment was about Hamilton. And no, I don't think we are going to lose to WSU with or without him.
