Happy with win! I forget all ills.

But love discussion.
Can you make the argument the absence of #5 and #23 never gave us a chance to spread the ball and put SH away?

Or is their inability to defend so glaring we couldn’t chance it?
i think pike doesn’t trust their d but think he rode the lineup that got us the lead in the second half pretty much. Don’t fault him for that today

Some made FT would have put them away. Not sure about Acuff but Hayes was was not able to stay with his man so not sure if his offense would have made up for it.

Thought JMike has been really disruptive on defense and has (mostly) avoided trying to be heroic on offense so there aren’t many minutes for them. PJ did well when he was out there.

Hayes is a big liability on D, he got smoked pretty bad a few times. That said, It almost feels like a wash at times. It’s not like JMike is some massive upgrade. He certainly has nice moments on D but turns it over too much and provides no scoring threat, even at the FT line.

Dirk is a maniac but that kid can play.
he is a maniac but he has to chill sometimes with his overdriving. Pick your spots. The problem is when playing him , our center and either j mike or j will is we have absolutely no spacing minus ace or dylan. The others provide spacing but bad d. I would probably pick one of pj and acuff and have them on thr floor for spacing most times

I just don’t see his D, I can’t stand when he’s on the hip and then falls back and gives room
I agree J Mike is not even a good defender and he’s too small and he’s a total black hole on offense look at 0 points and 3 turnovers you can’t have him out there

I don’t see that all. Last two games he quickly put us in a hole early. Bad turnovers, poor foul shooting, no points, no rebounds assists or steals at all this year. Some decent ball pressure at times but also matador defense as they blow by him or step back and hit a three. He has been hurting us.

If opposing coaches are hell bent on assigning extra man power to stop Dylan’s incredible ability to get to the rim, doesn’t that mean #5 and #23 should have open looks?
I haven’t even mentioned the extra bodies needed to stop Ace!
Let those two burn you a few times and the lane may open up more for DH

This is such a true statement that we witnessed just 1 game ago against Penn State. Great first half and Acuff and PJ hit 2 threes each and could had more and the lead against a good Penn State team is 15 at half. Yesterday PJ 1-1 and Acuff 0-1 we are down and fighting all game. Only 2 shots from those 2 when each should have 2-3 shots each per half is the way going forward. Pike is stubborn but he cannot deter the need for even more offense. Second half Penn State 0 threes but at least we attempted a few and PJ missed 1 and Acuff missed 1 and we missed in transition early in second half that makes possible leads to a blowout win.

Yes, the atrocious foul shooting turned 2 10 point victories into last possession games but that supports the fact we need a bigger cushion offensively to withstand either missed foul shots or a plethora of turnovers.
