Michigan hires Florida H.S. Coach as "Defensive Analyst". Coincidentally, this Coach's 4-Star son, Devin Bush Jr, just signed with this very same college team. Additionally, two more 3-star recruits, again, from this very same H.S. team are also headed to Michigan in the Fall.

You are aware that we hired Saeed Blacknalls coach a couple of years ago in an effort to help our chances at his landing on the banks right? This happens a lot and Michigan did not invent the practice by any means

Or they just set up other cushy no-show jobs for their parents.

When you are as flush with cash as the Michigan athletics program and the school's endowment, everything is possible. If Michigan is out-front about this hire, you know we are seeing just the tip of the iceberg. What they are doing that goes unannounced is what we should worry about. Follow the money.

Cody was never an actual Head Coach at Manalapan, so it's not exactly the same and High was never a conduit to landing Blacknall as well. Blacknall was all in until RU continued to bungle the search and eventual hiring of our offensive coordinator, who was supposed to have been signed and sealed 2 to 3 weeks prior to it getting finalized.....Those things ultimately land with RU being a State Job and the timing involved with the bureaucracy of the State of NJ.

Franklin and PSU chipped away and did some other things necessary to seal the deal. Ironically, Blacknall has been underwhelming at PSU with little playing time and very few catches in his first 2 seasons there, but there are always the "what ifs", in recruiting that matter more than the actual production from the recruit. Fans are enamored with the recruiting stories vs the actual players on the roster.....it still baffles me that all the 4* and 5* recruits Michigan lands every year led them to take an Iowa castoff as QB to play for them last year, with a player that ultimately was going to get beat out by CJ Beathard at Iowa.....ironically Beathard lands at Iowa after not getting a chance to play and decided to transfer to Iowa.

The best thing Harbaugh has done was to rattle the cages of the schools in SEC country with his goal of having Spring Practice off campus and on location at the place in Florida or Georgia or whatever they were planning to do. Outside of that, it's been significant hype and pompous attitudes by Harbaugh, but eventually he'll have to be competitive with Ohio State to matter and they are miles away from doing so. But as far as creating an actual brand recognition and keeping the "Kardashian" business model of being hyped up in the media and always having Michigan being talked about, Harbaugh is 2nd to none at this point in the conference for popularity contests.

Guy was an 8 year NFL veteran. Doubt cash is what lured him to Ann Arbor.

yep. he wants to get into coaching in college football. he thinks harbaugh will do that for him. he became a high school coach in 2013. in 2016 the won the state title in florida class 8 A. the highest qualification in florida. he wasnt brought in for his son. he was brought in for his connections to the state of florida. harbaugh is hiring guys who want to be head coaches one day and are going to work for it. just like partridge one day one of the other coaches will leave and bush will be an on the field coach. he is most likely not done hiring highschool football coaches this year

Michigan can hire endlessly ... would be interesting to see how Michigan stacks up to Alabama and Oklahoma and Auburn when it comes to number of staff on the payroll. Alabama and Auburn routinely hire folks as offensive and defensive analysts for recruiting and handshaking and summer camps and 7-on-7 competition ambassadors. Ex-Rutgers QB Chas Dodd's stepdad was hired as an offensive analyst by Auburn for a year or two, then moved on to a RB coach position at South Carolina. I'm guessing South Carolina pays more and Bentley's son Jake takes a close look at South Carolina as his college destination ;-)
