Pretty much dominated, yet...
1. FG hits the goal post. No points!
2. Touchdown disallowed with no review? Then first and goal on the 1yd line and we lose yards on all 4 downs. No points!
3. Clear TD dropped by wide open receiver when the defender falls down. No points!

With our D not letting them score in the second half, this could have, should have had a different ending.

Definitely left points. Losing sucks.
But, our program is making progress.
Left 17 pts & had some turnovers, in years past this would have been a 24 point loss

RU played a good team and wasn't exactly steam-rolled.
That said, the team has weak spots that were hinted at in past games.
This team isn't O6 level.
RU was lucky to beat Washington tbh.

The play-calling mystifies me.
For 1st 3 quarters of dinky passes (that travel further sideways) AK was the QB Minnesota ejected.
But he was making some great long passes in 4th - why wait so long to play "trying to win" football (prevent defense?).
The knock on Fleck and KC's Minnesota's offense is that they played not to lose and relied on defense.
Schiano has the same low risk, offensive DNA.

A good team that blocks a kick and is a few yards from end zone makes at least a FG.
Last years successful tush push is unused until 4th quarter when its used to successfully make a 4th down.
If its good on 4th down its good in red zone.
Every year the same feeble red zone

I would called this team 2005-esque. Not quite ready.

I like Athan…he’s an upgrade to what we had but didn’t have a great game today. I think Ajani can bring a nice element to the offense in the future. Keep choppin’.

It's karma and what I argued with my son last two weeks. You can't play for the other team to make mistakes because you're time is coming.n

AK's conversion from his end zone hopefully opens some eyes. Let's throw to these young wideouts deep.

He's falling backwards on most throws just like RU QBs of late. No longer stepping into them. That's what I see from his abysmal stats today plus live viewing.

Well, a ref not reviewing a close non-TD call isn't unlucky, that's just sheer incompetence. By the way upon slo-motion replay it was an easy TD call.
I actually didn't see that play as I was grilling a meal for my wife. I guess I should be happy I missed it and didn't have to buy a new 85 inch TV.
Sounds like an horrendous moment that as a long time Rutgers guy I should be used to.
Something to add agony to the misery for the replay should I decide to put myself thru it. Sounds like Chase Dodd vs. UNC?

One word sums up that play by the refs "EGREGIOUS". Kyle has almost half his body across the goal line when his butt hits.

Add to that how they marked the ball.. constantly giving us less than we earned. I realize that is common.. to use hash marks and move the ball up from time to time, especially on 1st downs.. but they always gave Nebraska every inch or more earned and penalized us. It was quite remarkable to witness the total screwjob.. especially on the TD and the one that was reviewed.

Once again we may lead the Big Ten in official apologies.

And to show I do see balance.. there were no calls on Rutgers PI as well as Nebraska PIs... along with the defensive holds honest refs in that crew called.

No holding calls on either OL? Insane. I saw multiple blocks in teh back at teh point of attack.. as well s teh TE hold 2 guys trying to pursue outside AT THE SAME TIME.. just spread his arms and grabbed both outside showers.. one on each Rutgers player. Insanely obvious and at teh point of attack. Just nuts!

Like when he made the first down and they reviewed and then said the line to gain wasn't correct? I have zero respect for the B1G refs and fairness. I guess I'm actually glad I missed this..

The yellow tv line isn’t accurate. None of us know where the actual line to gain was.

Their DL dominated and we still had a shot. There’s silver lining in the loss. No one expected 5-0, and even 4-1 was iffy at the start of the season.

I was sitting in the section behind that end zone. I watched with binoculars and he was .....
the big lebowski GIF

Goal line. Nebraska fans next to me tonight so too.

OL was dominated today

Felter is a massive loss. The difference was blatant. The injury just happened so this will be the first film without him. For all the differences of opinion on style of offense preference and Greg, nobody can deny the progress at OL overall. Nobody will make up for Felter exactly but they will have to experiment and mix and match. If Sutton can only plug on the right side they may have to try someone else on the left side for example. Let’s see how it gets addressed over the next week or so.

On a positive note something seemed to click for the D at the end of the game.

OK. it was off by 1/2 yard. OK If you (and them) say so. Must have been one of those Rutgers "anomalies" lol. KM rolled over the tacklers never having touched the ground. But it was so obvious (him not making it) that they just said OK. Play stands. It was So obvious it only took like 15 seconds to review.

You can defend a crappy call with the "well, so happy to be here" $hit but that is not how the game is played or supposed to be called.

Schiano specifically called out Taj White for battling. I expect him to be the guy next week. Getting thrown into the starting lineup against Nebraska is hard.
