It is mostly a G League contract, and the player can get cut at any time, receiving a salary only for games played.Since someone will ask:
When can a two-way contract play?
Players on two-way contracts are eligible to play in 50 of their team’s 82 games. When the contracts were initially introduced, players were limited to 45 days with the team, which included practice and travel days. The change to 50 games has greatly benefitted teams and players.
When not playing, two-way contracts can still practice with the team, travel with the team, and sit on the bench during games as an inactive member of the team. They can also spend time on the team’s G League affiliate.

Without rehashing, check out the draft thread…it really isn’t.This is actually better than getting drafted late in the draft
Late seconds aren’t even guaranteed two ways, instead have their rights controlled by one team so they do not even have the same freedoms as UDFAs. Check Marcus Zegarowski and Raiquan Gray, both locked to the nets yet their most preferred second round talents, Kessler Edwards and David Duke Jr, got two ways, despite David Duke not even being draftedWithout rehashing, check out the draft thread…it really isn’t.
Either way, he’s going to have to ball out and earn it, he’s got all of RU rooting for him.
I was about to look it up. Thanks for postingSince someone will ask:

Love it Geo. Go get em RHJ!’Great landing spot and i think it’s definitely better than getting drafted late. He/his team got to decide where they thought was best for him to develop. Raptors are known for developing out of the g league. They take a lot of pride in it.
would have been a great symbol for rutgers for him to be drafted but ultimately, him sticking in the league will be an even greater symbol. This gives him a better chance to do that than being drafted late second round by a random team
Toronto is a well run franchise and drafts/develops very well.
July 7th to the 17th is the Vegas Summer League, where every game is televised live. We will all get to see RHJ against other drafted rookies, free agents and 2nd or 3rd year players.
Great spot for Rsocks.

We going to have a running Summer League thread now too?
This board will be full of NBA fans soon. This is great.
False
Other than two way contracts, G League contracts are held by the league. If you are a G League player not on a two way, you are essentially a free agent. NBA teams are free to sign you regardless of which team you play for. Happens all the time, especially as injury replacements.Late seconds aren’t even guaranteed two ways, instead have their rights controlled by one team so they do not even have the same freedoms as UDFAs.
