Northwesterns' QB stats against Wisconsin today

9/20 60 yds 0 TD

And Ohio States QB against Michigan St,

9/16 for 46 yds 1 TD

Can you believe those stats?

Amazing what those two defenses can do to a QB of two top twenty teams and their quality offensive lines. Makes you wonder how much worse those stats would have been for those two QB's if they were playing behind a young inexperienced offensive line like Rutgers O Line.

Northwesterns QB stats against Wisconsin today through the first half.

Uhm, the game is long over, hate to break the news to you and how about these #'s:

5 for 11, 22 yards (not counting negative sack yardage which, IIRC, are counted against the passing yardage total in the NCAA?), 0 TD's, 1 INT

Guess whose wonderful 1st half stat line that was?

Let the record show that sacks count against rushing yardage in college.

Care to explain this:

Nebraska ranked 118th or so in pass defense. Laviano was 13/27 for 165 yds and 2 INT... ZERO TD. Against Army (103rd pass defense) Laviano was 13/21 for 105 yds and ZERO TD. Btw, Rutgers didn't give up a sack against Army so there was no consistent pressure to make him nervous. What's the excuse now? I'm waiting.

Bet you a beer he brings up Laviano's stats against the nation's other pitiful pass D's we've played this year (MSU (until today...wow...but they dominated at the LOS...), Wazzou, Indiana, Kansas, and NFSU...).

Truly, a DIZZYING intellect.

Laviano's stats are bad. Worse, I think, is Flood's attempts to develop him has caused him to regress. Plays with lots of doubt, and scared to make a mistake.

But, Slyker, I seriously want to try whatever you are drinking!!

NFSU: 4/4 138 yds 3TD. The credit really goes to Carroo this day

Wazzu: 23/29 203 yds 1TD 1 INT. It was the run game (200 yds) and Grant who were the difference. Laviano managed the game.

Indiana: 28/42 386 yds 3 TD 1INT. This was by far the best Laviano has played all year. Much respect. The run game chipped in 200 yds.

Michigan State: 15/24 208 yds 3TD. Again Carroo made him look better than Laviano actually was that night. Mostly dink and dunk with Carroo being the receiver where a pass over 15 yds is called for him. The run game was solid that game for 180 yds, but once you add the sack yds Rutgers finished with 131 yds.

Kansas: 18/25 201 yds 2 TD 2 INT. The run game won the game with over 312 yds rushing.

Bottom line without any help from the run game or Carroo, Laviano hasn't put this team on his shoulders, like Nova last year, to carry the team when all else failed.

Yes, RU's QB has.

Not attempting to explain or judge any performance by any QB of Ohio State , Northwestern or Rutgers.

Simply put some stats out there for comparison.

Have never done that before and dont plan to again. Have never once made any statement where I think Laviano is good. Just have provided some comparitive stats over the past several games where other QBs against teh same D's have performed similarly.

I have my own opinions that I keep to myself

So...which is it, you have, or haven't, lol....

BTW - I'm 99.99% sure that you have, and more than once, because I've showed you the "other side" of the stat facts, several times the past few weeks.

You are a shell of a poster.
CL is a shell of a QB. Zero TD passes in 5 consecutive games. A QB rating at the bottom of the B1G.

Hought he played poorly but at least didn't fumble the snap today. Dogs breakfast of an OL today played pretty well.

Hmmm, tOSU's oline last year had less experience than RU's this year, yet they won the NC, and Barrett and Cardale Jones were both first time starters. Nice try, though.

Baylor is down to their 3rd string QB. He was moved to wide receiver during summer camp, moved back to quarterback two weeks ago, and is picking apart Oklahoma State's defense right now. Makes me shake my head at how bad our quarterback situation is, or must be, despite some of the resident experts around here trying to tell us we had "great depth at quarterback" in August. Please.

You sure do like to poke the bees nest. [laughing]

What a great comparison !! Ohio States inexperienced 4 and 5 star players are just like our current OL. !!

I would like to know what Flood sees on film when it comes to Laviano? I mean, does the film show something different from what we see on TV? Does it look better when you slow it down and look it over time and time again?

When your Northwestern defense is holding Wisconsin to -26 yards rushing while sacking their QB six times and pulling in five turnovers, you don't let your freshman QB throw the ball much on a slippery field on a windy day, so yeah, Thorson's stats weren't too impressive. Best stat for us NU fans was Northwestern 13, Wisconsin 7.

I don't think laviano is good but since Carroo hurt his ankle our receiving corps...including leonte I must say...have been close to worthless. Now how much of that is on lavs is hard to say....but I fear for next year.

Flanagan vs Kansas was the last non Caroo td. (1 yard pass 8 games ago!)

For the year he has 9 TDs to caroo and 3 TDs to someone else.

So in 11 games he has 3 TDs to someone else
In about 1 game of playing time retting has 2 TDs to someone other than caroo.

Wish I was making this stuff up!

The incompetence at QB is the number one reason I can't listen to a word coming out of Floods mouth anymore. 0 TDs in 5 games!! How the F is that acceptable in any level of football !?! How many games have we had less than 60 yards passing before half !?

Make a change for change sake at this point!! The lies he told us that the competition was too close to call this summer !
