Has this season made you lose your enthusiam for college basketball?

I've only watched Rutgers games for the last several years. Now they are no fun.

somewhat but also the shift of games to all different networks at odd times especially Peacock. It a disheartening to know the RU hoops season is over at the midway point of the season which might be the first time we can say it since Pikes 2nd year

im sure i will come around by the beginning of March

I don’t follow college basketball closely unless we’re good.
I can’t consume enough of The BiG Show when we are good, or watch enough BIG games when their outcomes are relevant to our place in the standings.

A basic Illinois vs Michigan St match up should be a game of interest, it’s an afterthought for me when I have no rooting interest.

As we get closer to the B1G tournament, if we turn this around somewhat and have a viable chance to participate, I’ll watch the teams we are competing against for last spot.

I can’t remember the last time I watched BIG show, I get sick listening to them report on us.

I'm a college hoops junkie. It's my favorite sport. I'll continue to watch with the same fervor.

I've followed the sport closely since I was a kid, as well as from 1992 through 2020 when Rutgers had three, maybe four, seasons in which it had a legitimate shot of getting a bid to the big dance. One disappointing season by my beloved Scarlet Knights is not going to stop me now.

I prefer college versus NBA basketball which is primarily 3 point shooting. This disappointing season really hurts because its highly unlikely players of Bailey and Harper talent will ever be successfully recruited by Rutgers in the future.Rutgers will fall back to Pikiell teams of the past far better on defense but struggling to score 65 points. With so many teams in the B1G Ten it will be very difficult to receive a NCAA bid.Lets not forget it was 30 years without one NCAA bid.

It’s one of the biggest disappointments - watching the conference games is a lot of fun when they matter. They don’t matter anymore. Well, I have time to do other things.

Are you forgetting last season already?

Season is definitely not over. If we get hot and everything breaks right the rest of the way, we can still be on the bubble for the B1G tournament.

Yes this season and how RU is essentially already out of the running for the tournament , already has me almost completely disinterested and already thinking about what has to happen for us to be in the running next season

I’ve been a fan since before the Final Four team of 76 and even when Rutgers has sucked, which has been often, I rooted for the league they were in because it was in Rutgers’ best interest. As much as I hated John Chaney, I was a Temple fan with the Mark Macon teams, a URI fan when they went the Sweet Sixteeen, and even a Calipari UMass fan. Later, I rooted for all Big East, and Big Ten teams in March after Rutgers’ season was over, and I have hoped for the last 10 years that the Big Ten could win a championship they haven’t had since 2000.
This is the first season that I can honestly say that I don’t give two shits what the B1G does vs OOC games or in the tourney. NIL, the transfer portal, and our incredibly underachieving team have made me a Rutgers fan only now. The college game is being ruined.

Monday tickets going for $10 (edit $7) on seat geek that says it all
yeah.. it says Rutgers screwed up making some deal with ticket brokers. real Rutgers fans wanted season tickets or single game and were turned down. Sorry.. total season sellout!

Riiiiight...

Now we have had home games where a full crowd cheering their asses off might have made a difference. We all said that the RAC was a tough place to play.. right? Because of the FANS... not because of ticket brokers selling to whoever might pay the most.

Not having the final drive on BTN anymore, instead going straight into a 10/11pm tipoff west coast game, has made me the least informed about the Big Ten and cbb overall, maybe ever

Despite the last few years, I'm pretty used to this feeling during an RU hoops season. The no sit out free agency world is what is killing my interest more.

Not just BB, but pretty much all of college sports. Since the biggest influence of NIL is at the Div. 1 level, sometimes watching lower level is more interesting.

FYI…
New Jersey public school football is also a joke.
I never played a game on Woodman field in Montclair for 3 years without a minimum of 9,000 fans in the stands.
Today they get 500

You can watch many high school games from home streaming now, no need to go sit in the cold
