They got this whole thing incredibly right. The video was very well produced.

After meeting Pat Hobbs, you just know he is going to continue killing it across the board. Nice to have experienced professionals running the department now.

The next 5-10 years are going to be the best of times in R athletics.

So true. Everything about it from the video, to the event, to having it streamed live, was very ... B1G time

To add: so many here thought that joining the B1G would HURT recruiting, in all sports, but it has helped it in almost every "Olympic sport," finally football and men's basketball, and hopefully one day again women's hoops.

It will be nice to see all the teams uniforms using the same theme. I always wondered why some teams (see gymnastics) were still using that old Knight head from the 90's.

Not sure who thought going to the BIG would hurt recruiting though.

Ash said this was in the works before he was hired and since Hobbs was hired a week before him, pretty absurd to give credit to Hobbs for this.

Why do you have to post 10 times that you talked to Hobbs about the uniforms. We get it dude.

Haha, you asked I answered. And the uniforms were about 10 seconds of conversation. I'm basing it off of what was seen yesterday.

Look who came out of their safe space. Soju. Wasn't so bad, right?

I'm not gonna argue. You know the letter of the law and this was against it. The uniforms are ok - not enough to get worked up over either way.

The plan for unified branding was started by Hermann. But the designs weren't in place at the time. Hobbs gets credit for the actual execution, even though the concept of unified branding started before his arrival.

You have no argument to make. That's why you aren't. Instead of being a d*ck, maybe you should think of an apology.

It might be time to stop having to hand out credit to people... It doesn't matter. It's one university and whoever is holding the torch is holding the torch .

People's hatred for Julie makes her entire existence at Rutgers a black hole. The simple reality is that the master plan for all of the athletics facilities and the "correcting" of the uniform disaster, were accomplished by her athletic department. Anyone questioning this is ignoring the facts.

But I totally agree with @ruready07... it is most important to focus on the school, which is what we all really support, and not the individuals.

Apologize for what? Thinking that was out of place? You disagree and that's fine. I'm not going to apologize just because you think your opinion is right and mine isn't it. Who are you dude?

That's not what I'm talking about. Before you ask, if I cared enough I'd explain the obvious. But I don't.

I don't disagree that we root for the university, regardless of who's holding the torch. And while maybe we shouldn't be handing out "credit", it is a shorthand for evaluating the performance of administrators. At some point, the fan base will start assessing whether Hobbs is a good AD or not, and fans will point to things he has done well, or not so well.

But cared enough to respond lol. You were right about the announcement but off about the time. Good job. You're the best. Maybe we'll get another relevant post come the next jersey change.

Never gave a time. So you are wrong, again. I see a theme with you.

Just as long as that laughable new knight logo doesn't touch the uniforms, they are OK overall. Numbers should be blocks, and should be on the shoulder too..and there needs to be a block R on the pants again....

But seriously, the knight logo....Even with the old logo, I would never buy or wear something with it on it. It was corny as hell...I would almost laugh at it as it was just childish and lame...but at least it was unique. This new logo is literally a rip off out of Microsoft Word and every high school and D3 program named 'Knights." I think the logo will drift into non-existence just like the old one did...Especially when they realize it does not sell....

We are and forever will be the BLOCK R.

Most every school has a secondary logo. I dig it. Way better that MSU's Spartan for example. Or Stanford's tree.

Don't waste your time arguing or talking to him. He's on the level of a 11 year old girl.

There is no argument. I'm stating facts, of which you've added none. Like Soju. Two peas in a pod.

Nice moves so far, but ultimately Hobbs will be judged on two things.

The success of Ash, and the success of Pickiell.

Both are off to a nice start, but 6 wins in football and basic competitiveness in bball will be needed before we can truly be calling anyone on a successful path.

Agreed. Hobbs is extremely impressive. He comes across sincere and passionate about the job, but also a very laser like business focus.

There were posters here who flat-out claimed joining the B1G would hurt recruiting (all sports) because it was taking us away from our "eastern roots" and that joining the ACC would have been much better for recruiting. I probably shouldn't have said "so many" but this is a fact, I always found it funny, but just felt like mentioning it along with Cali's comment about the "next 5-10 years."
