Cant believe nobody has brought it up yet, even though it's not serious Hayden has a high ankle sprain and is wearing a boot. Even though it isn't serious, ankle injuries can linger

This was discussed the other day in the Fat Cat I think.

I would be more concerned if he was a run first QB. If Rettig wins the starting job, it's going to be because of the plays he makes with his legs, and the plays he makes with his brain.

Did you mean to say arm?

Laviano's leadership is what counts most. He has the support of his team vs the other QBs. Why does throwing accurately and winning matter?

Sorry, why would I post football news about one of our potential starters, should've stuck with something like cursive in school!!! Oh to be as wise as you

You should have titled it, will Chase Rettig' cursive improve while writing down his list of where he wants to take his first legal drink, during his healing from an ankle sprain

Rettig needs to be at 100% to have maximum chance of winning the starting QB job. I hope his nose has been in the playbook 8'hours a day while he recuperates.

My guess is Laviano wouldn't take your great granddaughter to the prom in HS and you are acting like a 2 year old or 92 year old which is basically the same thing. Let it go.

Does that fall into the LOWER BODY category?

It's funny, in the NFL (and HS) they disclose exactly what the injury is (usually) in college they guard the info like it's a nuclear secret. In the NFL they play preseason games and even have rookie scrimmages against other teams. High schools scrimmage other teams as well. In College, although most D1 Coaches favor scrimmaging other schools, there are only intra squad scrimmages. NFL and HS have multi round playoffs involving a good number of teams. D1 College only 4 of 120 teams go into a playoff.

Why should I drop it? I think Laviano is a bad QB. I don't want him to start. I don't know if Rettig is good or not. Or for that matter any other QB at RU..on the squad or incoming freshman. All I know from game action is that Laviano is bad, and I don't want to see him as QB. I'm entitled to my opinion. You may think he's John Elway or Peyton Manning. I think he had a bad year, and nothing on the field in actual game action shows me that he can win a football game against a good football team. End of discussion.

In that case, what does being able to communicate plays to the offense, call audibles at the LOS or not burn time outs matter?

I talked to a guy who was with another guy who walked with a guy at Eric's walk today and they said that a guy saw Hayden in Subway and he didn't have any boot on.

You don't have to drop it. The more you say it the more fans think your a fool. Up to you.

Sorry, can't end it when I read the team is behind Laviano, there is no proof of it. But there is
proof he can't play a lick it's on film, the one's that were for him, were Flood's drunks
that went drinking with him passed curfew, and staying up the night before games, playing
video games or planning robberies. As far as I am concerned Rettig is the one to be
given a chance, until he blows it like Laviano did. Laviano was the one who should
have been fighting to get his starting job back, not automaticaly getting it back
after a stupid one day suspension.

We need him as our QB this year.

I guess he'll be riding one of those sissy things brought up in another thread.

"He invested a lot of time in the offseason from a mental standpoint probably better than anybody else on the offense. He knew not only his job, but everybody else's job better than anybody else. That's a great testament to him that he came in and studied film a lot on his own, studied the playbook on his own. He learned the offense and he was further ahead of everybody else when we started."

"Seeking leadership, Ash held a player vote to elect members from each position group to form a leadership council.

"It helped us identify who the leaders are at each position that we could lean on," Ash said. "If there's issues we could call them in and talk to them about it. If there's things we want reinforced in the locker room we know who's going to do it. We've used that council in several different ways so far in the short time we've been here. We'll continue to do that."

Ash puts a premium on each position group "operating at maximum capacity," which is the basis for the team's 10 strong mantra. One or two players from each position group were elected to the leadership council: At QB Chris Laviano was elected ........ We didn't know anything about the players so we wanted to find out who the players thought the best leaders were on the football team. That helped us tremendously to go through that process."
