Heart ache

18 year olds shouldn't get tired, and if they do that's on the staff, and as far as stars needing to work harder to get open, that's on the staff also. Run something to make it easier for them to get open. Pike stinks by almost every metric.

Watch that time period again. Multiple times Ace was open. Several times inside. The ball stuck and they weren't looking for him when they should have been.

Well our resident bracketologist said that we would’ve been back on the Bubble if we would’ve won this game. It absolutely meant something.

This was a SOUL CRUSHING defeat right up there with Iowa/Weiskamp miracle shot, OSU screw job, and Minnesota meltdown.

No other school has its heart ripped out more than we do. NONE.
This loss sucked but not on same level as Minnesota or OSU screw job. Minnesota game we actually had an NCAA bid on the line, and OSU was such a screw job that it was discussed for the rest of the season and impossible to get that one out of your mind the rest of the year. The stakes were very low in tonight’s game compared to those others. We still needed to win out just to have a legit case for an NCAA chance. Burnett could have missed and we win, and then we could go to Purdue and lose. This was not a win and you’re in type of game like Minnesota. Definitely not soul crushing, seemed more an affirmation of much of what we have seen this year as far as this team’s issues with making winning plays late in games.

If we had closed out some more of these type of games this year like tonight’s, like 3 or 4, we are in the big dance for sure. But if my aunt had nuts she would be my uncle.

Speak for yourself. It was soul crushing TO ME and I’m sure most of us.

Fig I respect your opinions but EO is just too much a liability footwork wise and offensively to say he didn’t hurt us on the floor

The bigger point is that we’re even discussing him as the difference in the frontcourt

Michigan has 3 4/5 types that are interchangeable and we have 0
They made it a point to get him the ball in the paint on multiple second half possessions, which I thought was a mistake coming off his injury and with little practice time... terrible and a head scratcher considering the scoring drought we were in. He's not a "go-to" guy, even when completely healthy. Hell, Somerville would've been a better option. At least he might get fouled and go to the line.

Tough ending. When they passed it to that kid I said "oh I will let them shoot that". Kid made a big low percentage shot. What are the odds that goes in? 20%?

As I have said since Princeton, this is a .500 team and a program going no where. Season is over in 2-3 weeks and you will all be put out of your misery. Pike era ends in about 13 months now.

The whole run happened when they weren’t playing to even make it a game

Poor roster construction prevents that from being a possibility and you’ve been pounding that point all year

EVERY time they are both on the bench the other team makes a run what is our options

Oh and EO was probably -20 today in +/-
Even if just one of them is on the bench we tend to struggle. The first half was an outlier while the second was more consistent with that this team has had to deal with. Not sure why Dylan Grant only gets 8 minutes. He is not the answer to all of the issues but given the alternatives, I just don't get it.

Harper nothing
Jump shots by JWill and Lathan

Pike sucks period
Michigan was not going to let DH get a good look down the stretch. Same with Ace. They were converging on both while keeping an eye on Acuff and fine with anyone else out there taking a semi contested shot. We could not make them pay. I thought the degree of difficulty in Ace's shot attempts increased down the stretch.

Sha would have definitely made sure that the refs called the blatantly missed double dribble. All the Pike shitters are putting this games on him some how. Yet the same Pike shitters who have said he sucks all year, the roster sucks all year, the players suck all year give no credit for getting those sucky players and sucky team to basically have a win over number 15 on the road (another complaint of why Pike sucks is no wins on the road) if not for a blown call.

From Julie Herman to Eddie Jordan to losses like this it just keeps coming.

Yeah I've been reading commentary on how devastating it was to lose as a fan but I could only shake my head last night...this team lost me weeks ago. Last night was more of the same

At this point the regular season is over outside of consideration for whether we make the BIG tournament. In the big picture - last night’s outcome doesn’t matter much.

I will get pumped for the tournament, should we make it and consider it a fresh shot until we are eliminated.

Yea but that kid is Nimari Burnett, one of the best shooters in the B1G. Just baffled at Dylan’s decision to help off him with like two seconds left

I was being facetious did you see him do anything meaningful in his 10 minutes … no
I mean he's coming back from surgery, he won't be like he was earlier in the year before season is over. I saw him set a few great screens that led to baskets that no on else on the team can set.

In fairness I would be the 1st guy killing Harper if he was in a position to help and didnt and Wolf (was it him) drove for a layup

The shot was way beyond the arc.

Real easy looking at things after the fact.

Tough ending, but there was never a doubt in my mind that shot was going in. It's an RU thing

Because a dominant big had the ball 1-1 against our charmin soft center who is apparently transferring in 3 weeks.
