Got home about 2 am from my 35th HS reunion and had not seen/heard anything about the game, so I watched it in "rush hour" mode in a little over an hour. Great game, but what a heartbreaker. Our best game this year, easily, and our best game against a very good team in a long time. We could have won this game. Would like to see what would've happened if we scored a TD at the end instead of a FG - who knows, pressure's way different when you have to score a TD to win.
Laviano played great, except for the spike, of course, and Carroo was a beast, plus we ran the ball pretty effectively. Defense played their hearts out (Gause and Longa were awesome) and did a lot of bending but not breaking. Still think at least one of those plays was intentional grounding on them and those were huge no-calls against us. I'm now a little more excited for the rest of the year. We can beat IU if we play like this again and we could pick up 3-4 other wins (and of course, we could get 7 more wins, lol) if we can continue to play like this. Still pissed off we lost that WSU game. Loved our playcalling on offense, by the way and special teams were very good. Time for a few hours of sleep before our weekly Sunday morning soccer...
