Houston recruiting rankings have averaged about 55 in the past 5 years...that's really impressive even if top 5 is really overrated
If they go undefeated they will be in the playoffs. They are an exciting team to watch. To deny them a spot would be a crime. As odd as it may sound a key game will be to see how the do vs Navy.
They need to have no other undefeated teams to have a shot.If they go undefeated they will be in the playoffs. They are an exciting team to watch. To deny them a spot would be a crime. As odd as it may sound a key game will be to see how the do vs Navy.
[roll]But I thought, Houston was going to take a step back when they lost Mehringer. . .

This is Herman's second year. So did his predecessor leave him a treasure trove of talent? Or is he doing it with 3-star players?
But but but transfers don't work out.Houston has received some BIG time transfers who were former highly rated 4star players. I believe their last recruiting class or maybe even two were top 30 also.
Yeah, kinda rhetorical, but at the same time, these are second tier or maybe even third tier Texan players - the leftovers that didn't make it to Austin or College Station. That's why I raise an eyebrow when I hear that Rutgers can be a playoff contender if we kept the homegrown talent home. Yeah, Jersey has talented HS players but places like tdxas are crazy rich in that department.Did you watch our game against Houston at all? They destroyed us every bit as badly as Washington (49 - 14, same differential and eerily close to Saturday's score), at our stadium (on homecoming), when they were new to a watered down league we thought we'd be dominating and not any kind of powerhouse, and before Flood even put his own special stamp on our recruiting.
So yeah, I'd say Herman had a few built-in advantages Ash didn't.
