Your hindsight is fun but its just that. Had we not iced him and the kicker drilled it youd all be saying, “why didnt greg ice him, he had 3 timeouts left what did he want to do take them home with him? They dont carry over to next week.” But the overwhelming majority of coaches call timeouts with 3 in pocket and 14 seconds left to ice a kicker.
You have a kicker who has hit from 59 in game this season and 65+ in pregame with a right to left wind at his back and the odds arent exactly zero as some of you are claiming that hed miss.
We just simply dont have the jimmys and joes on d and that was on full display today. At one point we had 2 walk on DL, a walk on LB and 3 freshman db’s all on the field at the same time together today.
We are so banged up. I hate the banged up excuse too as every team deals with injuries but the level at which we are dealing with is not something ive seen in my time following the program.
