not sure the point, but I'd say only making the NCAA one out of last four is certainly not up to our usual high standards. However winning the NIT does mean a lot (to me anyway).

Overall, if you didn't know what Rutgers Women's Basketball was all about prior to that it would be a Super list..but we have and can do better than that. (yes, I hold the program in that high a regard).

To put it another way, I think that the 2016-2017 Scarlet Knights will have the worst record in the storied history of the program. Losing Tyler killed any chance at a 500 record. Next year is the make of break year for CVS. She needs to make the NCAA and bring in another top 10 recruiting class.

My point is the RU WBB program the last few years wasn't the disaster some are
trying to claim, but like you said, " not up to our usual high standards".
You listen to some , without knowing the facts, you'd be believing RU WBB had a losing record every year from the 2009-2010 season on.
4 early NCAA exits and two NIT trips in 7 years isn't what RU WBB fans want (Sweet 16s & final 4s with maybe a NC game thrown in) is what we want and with the expectations RU WBB fans had years ago, the last couple of years hasn't been very pleasant when it comes to meeting or coming close to our expectations

As for the way this season has started out: Disaster is to kind of a word to describe it.
Only thing I have is hope things will get better as the team finds itself.
But my expectations aren't high for the 2016-17 season and I won't be fighting with the dump Viv faction that posts here or the ones that made every season since 2008-09 sound like RU had a losing season
Nor will I jump in to defend when they post how bad the RU WBB program is and it's Stringer's fault. The way this season has started Vivian's history of success at RU won't stop those who use this year to back up their annual Stringer must go rants.

This season RU might have a season that even I would call a disaster.
But I'd still give CVS one more to show she hasn't lost it and hopefully go out with a winning record in the 2017-18 season, along with having RU's dance card punched with a sweet 16 or better ending.

she couldnt make the NCAA tourney with 3 WNBA players last year...two of which Copper and Scaife future WNBA draft player who would be in the top 10. How can you fail with that talent...if it didnt happen last year, it aint happening. There are no Cappies, Pips, Matees or Tylers onboard

But RU WBB isn't as bad as some implied and that was the point I was making.
For some nothing will satisfy them until she's gone.
I'm not happy RU only went to the NIT last season and lost to UConnin the NCAA second round game the season before, but still have faith that Stringer can coach .

I don't know how this season will turn out and admit not looking good now, but will remain positive while hoping things look up.
Others can rant and rave about how bad the RU WBB is and I point out that it hasn't been a losing program, just hasn't met the expectations of RU WBB Fans.
As far as Stringer is concerned, this might be her last year the way it looks now, but wouldn't be opposed to Hobbs renewing her and letting her get to 1000.
That's if she's close enough to it so Rutgers can get the Great PR that will come with CVS reaching that goal.
But would hope a coach in waiting is on the bench so recruits know who Vivian's replacement will be.

It's a lot more than "not meeting expectations." It's about a very well-paid Hall of Fame coach who has a history of bitching about her bosses not promoting her team ("Other teams get to run through smoke during introductions," etc.) turning in performances not equal to her status or salary.

Our expectations shouldn't be that important. But when your hard-core fans think you're only a half-step below the Pats and Genos of the world, the past seven years are a royal suckfest.

Now you're a diehard...I respect that cause so am I....I'm just a little less patient!!! But definitely see where her coming from...
