not sure the point, but I'd say only making the NCAA one out of last four is certainly not up to our usual high standards. However winning the NIT does mean a lot (to me anyway).
Overall, if you didn't know what Rutgers Women's Basketball was all about prior to that it would be a Super list..but we have and can do better than that. (yes, I hold the program in that high a regard).
My point is the RU WBB program the last few years wasn't the disaster some are
trying to claim, but like you said, " not up to our usual high standards".
You listen to some , without knowing the facts, you'd be believing RU WBB had a losing record every year from the 2009-2010 season on.
4 early NCAA exits and two NIT trips in 7 years isn't what RU WBB fans want (Sweet 16s & final 4s with maybe a NC game thrown in) is what we want and with the expectations RU WBB fans had years ago, the last couple of years hasn't been very pleasant when it comes to meeting or coming close to our expectations
As for the way this season has started out: Disaster is to kind of a word to describe it.
Only thing I have is hope things will get better as the team finds itself.
But my expectations aren't high for the 2016-17 season and I won't be fighting with the dump Viv faction that posts here or the ones that made every season since 2008-09 sound like RU had a losing season
Nor will I jump in to defend when they post how bad the RU WBB program is and it's Stringer's fault. The way this season has started Vivian's history of success at RU won't stop those who use this year to back up their annual Stringer must go rants.
This season RU might have a season that even I would call a disaster.
But I'd still give CVS one more to show she hasn't lost it and hopefully go out with a winning record in the 2017-18 season, along with having RU's dance card punched with a sweet 16 or better ending.
