Hobbs is the real deal

Rutgers just ate a few million in football....then spent a lot on new positions created. Now, the expectation is to eat another couple million in basketball....plus, the millions it would take to entice any coach to come to a program that likes to fire coaches every 3-4 years.....instead of finally addressing the core problems and having shovels in the ground to finally help recruiting (see signature).

The alternative is to give a coach a chance with a full roster of his players, hopefully without injuries.

How many people think Rutgers will eat $4-5 million in one year in football and basketball? That does not even count the increased expenditures in football. People talk like money is growing on a Rutgers tree at the AD's office.

Fair point, but if Eddie is retained, RU will continue to "eat" the loss of revenue as the RAC becomes an empty morgue. Season tickets are at a historic low and will go even lower if Eddie is retained. If RU can create buzz with a new hire, they might offset some it the losses with increased ticket sales. Even 1,000 more season tickets, along with the accompanying seat contributions and increased concessions and parking, probably adds another $1 million in revenue.

He said when he was reviewing film of RU in preparing for last year's RU/OSU game, he felt that the RU players "quit" in games. This is the sort of thing he was saying in explaining how he needs to change the attitude and culture in the RU football program.
Be prepared for similar articles when the new hoop coach starts. Alot of them
