As a coach, how do you let one QB ride the wave, even when ineffective, when you will not name a starting RB?
It is said if you have two good backs, you don't have one. I think that takes it a little far, but you can't ride the hot hand at RB, and refuse to hold a QB even SLIGHTLY accountable. Flood finds time and a reason to put in the backup punter, but not a QB?!?!?!?
I have advocated (like most) for Rettig to get more time. If Flood wants to keep Laviano as the starter, I can accept that (though at this point I don't agree), but by now, there has been ample opportunity to give another guy a look. And, no, a true look would be considered starting the 2nd half, not somewhere much later in the game. I think the earliest was the 4th quarter ONE TIME.
Whether he realizes it or not, his stubborn streak is a major flaw. Whether he be judged by his misplaced loyalty in his choice for QB, or by his refusal to take the advice that you absolutely should not contact that professor; it is obvious to me that no one will tell Flood what to do. NOT GOOD!!
