Guys:

The first phase in our build is now complete

We are a legit big ten basketball team on the court. We can rebound with them all and score in the paint. No one bullies us physically anymore. We defend and get after it and we compete. And we are starting to score

We can compete in this league

And who is signed and sealed for next year ..we have the pieces that will grow up and be good enough to take us back to the NCAA sometime in the next 2-3 years

The next step ...learning how to win.

This is NOT automatic. We have a young team and last night is another lump of the head in the process

It’s sooooo much harder to learn how to win when you don’t have the players before you with that experience. It’s abknt the little things. The details. The mental handling of many new situations that haven’t been around: Especially with a young team learning to do it on their own for the first time

Sometimes ...teams get over the hump fast. Some times, it takes a year or two of a lot of these games before getting over the hunp. Rutgers football fans here know what I speak of on schiano’s climb in 2003-2004 and part of 2005 before getting over the hunp

It’s not automatic and not a straight line

But ...how fast we learn to win ...will determine when our next step is

My prediction? We learn it soon enough that our name will be called on selection Sunday in 56 weeks....next season

If not, soon after.

The talent is there and it’s growing up . How fast it learns to win will determine when our next step is taken

It's not about learning to win close games, it's about putting ourselves in a position where we're up by a few possessions late instead of tied or trailing.

I hope we can slide in next year for EO. Would have been nice this year for Shaq that dude has been through so many ups and downs in this program, would have been nice to give him a great send off.

OK, I’ll bite. Let’s say we finish 10th. Have to get in the top 8 to have a realistic NCAA shot and even that’s no guarantee. NCAA next year is a bit aggressive.

I don’t agree with your logic ...it might be another year after that...

I just look at us and really are gonna to be balanced and a tough out next year .. I see how close we are now to turn the corner. I

Spot on comment which probably requires at least 20 wins for a NCAA bid.To make a significant jump in league rankings will require consistent scoring from multiple players which means better foul shooting ,3 point scoring and finishing around the basket.

We can’t strike out with the class of 2020 if this train is going to keep moving forward

Absolutely correct

These next four ships (if we don’t give one in the class of 2019) is a chance to take a roster that is built ...and UPGRADE our weakest spots

I really hope we can make it next season as Eugene has been our heart and soul. He really deserves to get some rewards.

Maybe, may be not. We know the team will be better next year. The first half of this year was all about acclimating the new guys. Next year will be about building on what they learned and being more consistent. We won't start the year in a giant hole facing a huge learning curve. This team has shown so much progress over the last couple weeks. I see us as competing every night and being about .500 in league next year. That's bubble material.

Coach Pike has said many times that these guys are gym rats. I have a strong feeling that our team will be hunkered down in the new practice facility this summer. I believe that we are 56 weeks away from getting back to the big dance.

I think we are already there, in every single close loss this season, we hit 75% of our free throws, we win. That’s at least 4 wins there.
